I honestly loved that brass lamp. It was electric at one time, I assume converted to candle. But we all have a lifespan, and precious metals do as well. so long lamp and hello salable stock! I really like those baby bullion bars, I'm partial to copper melts anyways but they were great, as well as the rest of the melt. The brass bar turned out great and the co I ns seemed perfect. You had to work hard on this melt but at the end I think the finished product spoke for itself! Hope you have a great week and give an extra pat to the pups for being their normal pup selves.

You know what would be cool to see in those tiny 2-part molds? Silver...or maybe even gold!
@andersjjensen2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure that if someone donates it bigStackD will happily melt and cast it! :P
@kevinbray37242 жыл бұрын
@@andersjjensen problem is (likely for almost all of us) even a mere 1 troy oz of gold is over $2,000 American. It's way over his price range, and I'm sure many of us. And silver has risen sky high lately too. I think it's better for him to stick with copper and copper alloys... and of course aluminum. As for the 1 troy oz melt... well his furnaces are a bad choice for that little. Adrock's electric furnace is a better chose for that (and is a better choice for gold and silver anyways. A gas furnace just isn't the best choice for precious metals... too much wastage in the crucibles)
@dethmaul2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinbray3724 Theres this ither youtuber that orecipitates gold of of some sort of solution. Holy SHIT the amount of work he does. Melts it all, pours it, mixes it with lead, pours it into a pyramid, the tiny nub at theend is lead + gold, he melts THAT in a tiny cupel and separates them, god damn lmao. Also, I didn't notice any pineapple on that pizza and I was grateful for that (I don't know why that happens, but it never happens to my pizza). And a great melt! Thanks for uploading this. I'm working on my GTI right now, a part of the turbo system (I suspected the diverter valve but now I'm not as sure) went out and after a day of getting out the old one and swapping it for a new one I found that the problem was not only still there but it was worse. I felt awful about it and I dreaded sending it off to a mechanic to find what the real problem is, but I watched this vid and I realized that even some of the best people in a craft can have trouble and fail sometimes. With that in my mind again, I'll get back on it tomorrow and make absolutely sure it's not the DV before stressing, and if it isn't and it turns out to be some mystery part I have to get a pro to dig for, that's cool too. But either way I'll know I tried my absolute best and even though I failed I can learn from it. Thanks for being on KZbin, man.

I used to work in a small foundry. When we used the graphite book molds, we had to preheat the leaves of the molds for 10 or so minutes above the furnace, plus heat each of our pours fairly high to lower the viscosity. Even then, most of the first samples would come out rekked lol.

To get those moulds to work use steel wire to wrap them up, and then heat up in the furnace on top of the crucible to red heat, and then pour. Wire will withstand the heat, and the red hot graphite will slowly cool down, so no bubbles or voids in the bar.
