Hey guys how are you all? Awesome I'm hoping. Today I finally get to all those plugs lugs and connectors I've been building up. A good return on these little pieces that people would normally throw out and I also had some old footage melts that I chucked in as well which is always good as it means more metal for the stack. Over 10 kg in today's haul so sit back relax take a break enjoy the video and hope to see all you beautiful people next Friday👋🏻😁

Forgot it was Friday until BigStackD showed up in my feed, I had to hurry and make my morning coffee and dress up a bit as its only about 51 F ( 11C ) this morning and rainy. I have to watch the videos on my front porch with coffee every friday for some reason. You got some nice brass bars and some unique looking ones out of those connectors, the one bar with the deep serrations was unique and i thought it was probably the best of the bunch. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and week! Take care all!

ive been wondering, is there a reason brass always seems to freeze mid pour? it seems like its underheated, but you have been doing this for years, and so im sure its not, is there a reason why its not heated more? or is it underheated for a reason? or does it just cool quickly? every time i see it poured it seems like its already freezing, thanks for reading
@colonialcharlie8702
@colonialcharlie8702 Жыл бұрын
This is from viscosity and how fast it dissipates heat. Copper holds heat more, as you can see how long they will boil water melted on a block of ice. As the thick molten brass slowly pours, note how that solidifying tounge can still pass molten metal through, as he bumps the crucible. It almost raises like a swampy wave. The borax added also helps lower viscosity and make pouring easier.

Thanks again buddy you’re the best. Don’t know of any fires over my way but I don’t watch the news as it’s always full of bullshit bad stuff and political crap so I try to steer clear of TV and radio news. It has been smoky a few times this week so maybe the wind pushed it along but it’s hot and clear over here at the moment. Should be a fun day tomorrow I’m gonna try Meltdown 24 kg in metals and after removing all slag and crap hopefully pour a 20 kg Nordic Gold bar. No bloody idea what I’ll do with it but it’ll be a conversation piece that’s for sure👊🏻😁
