What about the lack of air? Such high altitudes are very though to handle... Did you guys stayed some days to adpat in high altitude before step into the journey?

We have all lived at elevation for most of our lives fortunately. Seemed pretty normal aside from the added weight of everything we were carrying.

Those views are awesome! Be cool to see the native life there. I can't imagine how hard it would be to exert yourself at that altitude. I've backpacked at almost 12k feet and that was difficult. 16K must have burned your lungs!

Glad everyone was adjusted to the altitude. Altitude sickness there, would have caused certain death, before a bird 🚁 could have reached you... If you guys were carrying a SAT phone.

Yeah, we have all been living and training at elevation for most of our lives, so we were well prepared. Still hard, but the terrain was more challenging than the elevation actually.

We did have droppers, but the bags would get in the way and buzz the tires when we dropped them too low. A delicate balancing act to say the least. Funny how much the geometry trends have changed in just 6 years!

We chose this route because it had not been done by bicycle before. We were basically following llama trails in the beginning, but things got more established as we got closer to the southern end of this route.

I was the only person filming like this at the time, and I was not , and am still not cool, lol. I carried so many batteries on this trip to keep the cameras rolling without being able to charge anything for 9 days.
