Shot placement is the important thing. A .22 can and has easily killed someone. Shot placement. Even if it doesn't kill an intruder, I'm sure it would make them change their mind about their current plan. In addition to shot placement, there is volume. Once you decide to shoot someone, shoot them often. Just make sure all the holes are in the front. Shooting a person running away in retreat makes a self defense plea problematic.

@jondoe4667
@jondoe4667 Жыл бұрын
@@edswope28 yeah I agree that a perfectly placed shot will do its job the first time. Violence usually happens up close and very fast though. So in those situations when you are scared, and adrenaline is at an all time high most people aren't able to place a perfect shot that quickly. I always thought I could efficiently defend myself from an attacker before I started actually training. One of the drills I like to do is go from a relaxed casual position, and when the buzzer goes off I have to draw from the holster and put an accurate shot on target. I practice a lot, and I average about 1.6 seconds. It may not seem like it but that is pretty quick, and it took me a long time and a lot of ammo to get consistent. I use a 6x8 steel target so I can hear without a doubt if it was good or not. The target isn't attacking me either. So God forbid in a real life threatening situation I'm sure I wouldn't be that fast, or accurate. In that case I'd have to rely on more rounds to stop the threat. In a perfect world we wouldn't even have to worry about it.

And yes, you will feel the BB hit you, and it won't feel at all pleasant. :)

Back in the 1930's, when my grandfather had no money, he took down deer with a 22 rifle because that's all he had. 22s are deadly in the hands of a skilled shooter. The thing about small caliber rounds like the 22 is that if they do have enough power to penetrate the skull they almost never have enough power to penetrate the back-end of the skull and so the Bullet gets trapped inside of the brain casing just ricocheting around the inside of your skull turning your brain to soup. This fact can make them some of the most deadly bullets on the market

I heard that one of the real advantages of a .22 is that it’s so fu*king loud. It’s not a great idea to have a weapon that’s so loud you will be hesitant to use it. You’re not going to be wearing earplugs or ear protection, when some one wakes you up while breaking in. Also .22’s also often have more ammo in a clip, because it fits, because the rounds are smaller.

Why? Having a 5.56 in that length is counterintuitive. First, you're losing sooo much velocity, then you're getting a massive fireball in your face with every shot from the unturned gasses. The same gun in a 300 blackout makes perfect sense.

Here is why I absolutely love Bill over Gary Owen.. Gary can be funny, absolutely, but his comedy was/is always about his space within the black community due to his wife.. Bill, he's been with his wife, she's black, but his jokes don't make that he's invited to the BBQ his entire image... Plus, I mean, he's just fucking funny as hell!! 😂

A BB Gun cannot be used for Self Defense against a determined attacker. It can, however, be used to seriously escalate just about any situation.

I have always said those co2 BB guns would hurt so bad to be shot with. Not like the little pump ones we had as kids.

Take it from someone who's been shot with a large caliber, the brain is incredible at blocking pain and trauma after getting shot. I have minutes of that night right after being shot that are just gone from my memory. According to evidence and police I was running around with blood spraying, but I can't remember any of that. My brain totally had me on autopilot. And it was around 30 minutes before I felt any pain at all. Broken bone was grinding together and I could feel and hear it, I had third and second degree flash burns in and around the bullet hole, torn tendons, but I couldn't feel it because I was so flooded with adrenaline. So don't assume that just because you shoot someone that they will run from you or stop being a threat. If their fight response kicks in they very well could become an even bigger immediate threat to you. They may run at you and not even know what they are doing because they are in shock and flooded with adrenaline. Thr human body and what it can do is wild.

Bill is so funny. He's wrong about a .22. A .22LR hollow point will kill a guy. But what he says a BB gun will do, a .22 will do better. It makes a big noise and in the dark big fire comes out.
