For most humans, until one is an indoctrinated slave, freedom is not appreciated (and many times not even then), but once you succumb to being a slave, the slave holder is never willing to give you freedom and the slave holder holds all the guns, money, food, utilities, etc. which make regaining freedom an impossibility.
