Del The Funkee Homosapien is criminally underrated. Hieroglyphics Imperium amoung the greatest rap groups of all-TIME along with Wu-Tang!! Those 2 groups are basically the pinacle of rap. Hieroglyphics was a 7 member collective (DEL, A-Plus, Casual, Phesto Dee, Opio, Tajai, Pep-Love) and Souls of Mischief were 4 of those 7 (A-Plus, Opio, Tajai, Phesto Dee). Their albums: Souls of Mischief- 93' til Infinity Hieroglyphics - Third Eye Vision Souls of Mischief- Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution Hieroglyphics - Full circle I challenge ANY rapper/group to put 3 let alone 4 of their albums that are better. SOM/HIERO took intrumentals and lyricism to a whole other level. In fact Andre 3000 and Eminem back in the 90's used to talk to nerd out over the phone gushing about how good SOM/HIERO was.

I’m personally not that disappointed with Tyler not being on this list, seeing as he has been very consistent in not wanting to be regarded as a rap artist specifically in his comment on his issues with the urban/rap category of the Grammys during his interview in which he won a Grammy for Igor for the best rap album, even though he himself said it wasn’t a rap album. So while he does deserve recognition with all of the influence and recognition he’s gained and contributed to the hip hop game in recent years, I don’t think that recognition should come from this list for his sake. But yeah, no slick Rick, no doom, no de la soul cuts or another wu tang cut was a bummer from this list. Also to anyone saying JID should’ve been on this list, he needs some time to grow still. Just let him cook for a bit.

I think part of the listing has to come with the fact that the 50 artists mentioned had their music charted well with Billboard. So, if they took the stats of how many songs landed on top 100, and how many weeks they stayed on Billboard - that might factor a great amount of why the chose these 50 artists. Unfortunately MF DOOM and Zev Love X (KMD)'s music weren't the type that chart on Billboard.

Del The Funkee Homosapien is criminally underrated. Hieroglyphics Imperium among the greatest rap groups of all-TIME along with Wu-Tang!! Those 2 groups are basically the pinacle of rap. Hieroglyphics was a 7 member collective (DEL, A-Plus, Casual, Phesto Dee, Opio, Tajai, Pep-Love) and Souls of Mischief were 4 of those 7 (A-Plus, Opio, Tajai, Phesto Dee). Their albums: Souls of Mischief- 93' til Infinity Hieroglyphics - Third Eye Vision Souls of Mischief- Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution Hieroglyphics - Full circle I challenge ANY rapper/group to put 3 let alone 4 of their albums that are better. SOM/HIERO took intrumentals and lyricism to a whole other level. In fact Andre 3000 and Eminem back in the 90's used to talk to nerd out over the phone gushing about how good SOM/HIERO was.
