Sooo finneas (her brother that is singing with her) had started to write i love you and he went into billies room late at night to show her what he had and they say there in billies bed till they finished the song. That's why they do it on the floating bed to sort of recreate that moment. Love your channel, live your commentary, great video!!

During the show they explain that they are on the bed because they wrote the song sitting on Billie's bed. But yes, it has beautiful visuals. It's one of the few songs the crowd doesn't sing along (loudly) with every word in respect for the song. It's about a friend telling her he loves her, and her panicking because she doesn't want to ruin their friendship or make things complicated with a deeper relationship. So she begs him to pretend he was only joking and didn't mean it, so they can go back to the way things were. But the more she tries to fight against it, the more she realizes she feels the same way, until they both give in and give a relationship a try after all.

All these people are crying, but this is one of my favorite songs by Billie. Because it’s a song that makes you feel good. It makes you feel good because it’s about being in love.

Every single time I see this I get sooooo emotional! Just something about this song gets me! She sounds like an angel!! She and her brother wrote this son in 1 night on her bed just like they perform it...she often dedicates it to a really good friend of hers that got senselessly killed during a robbery. I see a lot of comments saying react to listen before I go in the Steve jobs theatre. I would say react to the studio version. The live one is acoustic and doesn’t have some really good effects the studio one does. But ofc up to you. Great vid as usual.

Actually, this song she wrote for a friend that passed away few years ago, and there is a video where she talk about it at the beginning of the music starts, and during the bridge she can't control her tears and it's one the most heartbreaking moments live 🥺 her voice is trembling and you can feel that she is holding the cry a lot of times. She is amazing. These two brothers are pure talent ❤️

I think you should check out "Billie Eilish - listen before i go (live from Steve Jobs theater)" and "Billie Eilish - idontwannabeyouanymore Live at 3FM Exclusive" :) Those two entire sets are amazing live performances by her, I also like the version of idontwannabeyouanymore I suggested because you can hear Finneas a bit more. Speaking of, if you want a new artist I recommend Finneas, especially "Claudia" and "Lets fall in love for the night".

michelle bamford The song 6.18.18 is ABOUT X, this song is DEDICATED to X. She wasn’t allowed to actually put out the former as they were trying to not have her be too associates with X and I think probably also due to complex copyright issues surrounding putting out a product based on someone’s death, especially considering how much of his songs she referenced in the 6.18.18 song. It’s absolutely beautiful and she’s done nothing wrong on a human and artist level to write her emotions out in the song, but I do understand why it was not put out. So I think what happened then is that she instead proceeded to make subtle references throughout the album, though this is just a theory of mine (in ilomilo she references not getting close to stars, in bury a friend - well, that kinda speaks for itself, in Xanny she talks about dying by mistake etc etc. It’s subtle but it’s definitely there and I do think his death and her processing his death is an integral part of her growth in the years that she and Finneas made the album.) However, I Love You is dedicated to X during a specific concert. The guitar cords at the beginning sound like one of his songs (which I found out when watching a fan of both of their music react to Billie’s album when it came out), and there’s a live performance of her singing this song on the one year anniversary of his death, and she says the song is dedicated to that friend (she doesn’t say his name). She cries in that performance and then afterwards she does the X cross with her arms the way he used to. She was probably told to not say his name directly but still knew how to signal clearly to those who know the connection, thus both avoiding the association in people who don’t know about X but at the same time honouring him in the eyes of those who do know about him.

Ron Branscombe If you search for Billie cries during performance (I think that was the name of the video) she introduces the song during a live performance as being dedicated to a friend who passed away on that date a year ago, then at the end she does the X with her arms. As far as I’m aware this is the only confirmation

This song was written for "X" a friend she lost the lyrics are about losing someone she cares about deeply The second verse starts with the actual call bell on and airplane and the stewardess giving instructions Finneas took the call bell sound and pitched it to go with the songs as you listen a few more times you will get the meaning and might want to reference the studio album version to truly dive into to the lyrics & production of this Beautiful song Thanks for the reaction!

I love you ties into 6.18.18 by Billie. It's all related...there are other live performances of i love you that would show it relates to her loss. Super emotional, devastating for her..but if you really want to understand this song, check that one out! I want to also recommend come out and play at steve jobs theater (that entire set is inspirational tbh!). The howard stern interview will 100% connect you to her happier, stronger side as will the live versions of copycat
