How to fix a leaking dripping outdoor tap

This is how to repair a leaking dripping out door tap and how to replace it if needed. The outside tap is very easy to replace and or fix yourself with minimal tools in minutes. If it dripping or leaking, cant be shut off or on then this video is for you. I will show you remove the old tap, install a new one and also how to service the tap by replacing the o rings, washer and re grease the spindle. Absolutely brilliant! Love the feeling of being independent to do maintenance around the house at minimal cost. Don't get me wrong I do like to support local plumbers but if I can do it myself I will give it a go especially if the advice is just like what you have shown us. At first I thought the washer needed changing, the O ring was ok but in the end the original tap needed a full upgrade (1960's home). I also appreciate increasing my 'home maintenance speak' vocab. Good video Bill. i know you are careful not to put too much torque on a stuck spindle to unscrew in fear of bending or dislodging the cooper pipe base. Do you ever have to apply a heat source on it to facilitate the loosening of a stuck spindle ?

Probably the homeowner noticed it leaking a little and then tried to over tighten it to stop it leaking and made it worse by completely breaking it... that's my guess, that's probably a common reason
