@spudvader3 жыл бұрын
It's nothing special...as far as 62 strat's go. Anthony Kiedis bought it for John because his guitars got burnt in his house fire or he sold them for cocaine. It's a pretty standard vintage strat, I read in a magazine that John said he thought the guitar was all original but found out it had Seymour Duncan SSL-1 pickups installed. John has since changed his story, so who knows but if you listen to Duncan SSL-1 pickup demos on KZbin, it's instant John tone. I think John has the SSL-1 pickups in another strat that he uses as well, I can't remember if it's the fiesta red strat or the sunburst with maple fingerboard

It's a nitro finish because polyurethane and polyester finishes don't weather check. The lines that you see in the paint is when the guitar is heated up and cooled down rapidly or visa-versa. Also, there is wear marks from use, good luck trying to wear down a poly finish.

Billy is an ingenious, versatile, shoot from the hip guitarist and a brilliant songwriter; LOVE all his work with the original lineup-saw them 2 or 3 times, including front row at the Double Door when they were trying out the still-freshly written songs for Mellon Collie (they still had the sheet music on music stands that night)! I almost got crushed against the stage during the encore when they played Hello Kitty Kat and Siva! Love his tea shop in Highland Park, too! 🤘🤘🤘

So as well I love Jeff buckley so I got a telecaster and had played my very first (after playing guitar for 17rs at the time) a maple neck, I was use to rosewood. Also i wasnt a gear head so didnt really care to pick guitars on specs. But once I played a Maple's, rosewood (to me) doesn't do the trick for me.
