I went to his (probably the last) concert at Tokyo yesterday. This song was the opening song, and soon after he started playing the prelude, the audience got pumped up! It was one of the greatest night in my life and their lives who were there. I’ll never forget the moment of the live forever.

My mom took me to the billy Joel concert back in September and it was by far the best concert I’ve ever seen. Keep in mind I am an 18 year old girl. I’m so lucky to have seen him in person and I will definitely never take that for granted

I was 7 years old, and living in Avon Connecticut when this song came out. I vividly remember sitting next to my mother in her car, driving on the backroads of central Connecticut, and listening to this song. Billy Joel is a living legend and a national treasure.

When I used to play out on drums people would always say “you hit those drums like your mad at them” this guy plays like that. I always said you gotta play it like you mean it!! Of course different situations call for different dynamics(like bridge in this song) but the rest of the time…hit em hard!! I love this drummer. Fun to watch and yes it takes a toll on your joints.

I am so glad I found this gem of a video thanks to KZbin. I hope Billy Joel lives at least a hundred years and keeps singing too. I was fortunate to have seen him live at the Madison Square Garden some years ago and I hope to see him next year if the pandemic fears die down and all travel gets normalised. As Tony Bennett called him once.. Billy is a poet and a performer and a philosopher.

My first billy concert. One of many. Thank you daddy for buying the stranger. 52nd Street and the nylon curtain and making a cassette of songs from those albums. I wasn’t even born when the first two came out and was a year old when the nylon curtain came out but my daddy made me a billy Joel fan for life. He then bought the greatest hits vol 1 2 and 3 on cd. The ironic thing his now I listen to him way more than my dad does. I don’t remember the last time he listened to him.

Yeah it's a different take on Doug Stegmeyer's original baseline. Tom Wolk was a great bassist. Sadly at this point Doug had already passed away and Tom did several years ago around age 50 I think.

What excellent musicians! In addition to playing well, I thought it was cool that everyone sang. The bass player is very good. The guy makes each arrangement on the bass, every detail is subtle but adds a cool detail to the song. Congratulations to him. The guy is very good. If you put on good headphones you can hear all the details of the bass sound. Even the introduction along with the drums, the bassist plays a really cool arrangement. 🇧🇷
