I was at the game in SD. It was such a great event, there was really something there for everyone, and a really positive environment. I saw Saffas, Irishmen, Americans, Canadians etc along with Kiwis and Fijians. If you ever get a chance, go so San Diego it will not disappoint. Great people, awesome weather, and the nightlife is off the charts.

I love the way this show is growing! Great commentary was always a part. Now you have access to great guests and the content is amazing. My question is, for the next show. How do we balance preserving the scrum - a sacred part of rugby - and player safety? There has been mention of looking at Rugby League style scrums. I feel that the scrum is an integral part of the game and deserves protection, as do the players. Where does the balance lie?

I thought Blackadder had an average test as a 7 on first impression, especially early in the game (first two touches, two turnovers surrendered). But I wonder now if he was just a bit ahead of the support or, rather, it was slower than him to anticipate the carry. The points made here about the attack fluency of the 9,10,12 makes sense. I do believe ALB made a big impact and made both the loosies and Proctor opportunities from his front foot gain. Likewise, B Barrett’s impact has come as much from his decisive play and assists that just make a split second difference to cross the gain line. I’m willing to question my viewpoint and consider the analysis from Simon here, especially in terms of selection to build coherence. A really good discussion.Thanks.

Here's a question for the pod... What can NZR do to come up with a more unified Rugby calendar domestically that eliminates these weeks of the doldrums where in the July test window there's only 1-2 games a week in a useful time zone for NZ viewers, and then there's weeks either side with no rugby at all. My Sky sub is basically going unused as I have no interest in the Olympics :) Can the finals of the best club rugby series get televised, can they be finished earlier to bring forward the NPC to start once the 3 July tests are done? Every year there's this weird gap in the middle of winter where Rugby sort of falls off the consciousness because there's nothing happening - surely it would help if there was a seamless transition from Super Rugby ->July Internationals -> NPC -> November Internationals?

Rieko Ioane's place must be under pressure, his recent form is slightly off whereas Billy Proctor was amazing albeit against Fiji. Also, Proctor's performance was helped by having Anton Lienert-Brown as the other centre, a combination that definitely worked well.

As you say, against Fiji. They were abysmal, poor set piece, didn't contest the breakdown, unforced errors & they gave the All Blacks way too much time on the ball. Fiji & England are worlds apart. The performance of the ABs v Fiji has to be viewed through that lens.

Reiko's defence has still been massive. Yeah he's not been quite as good at the sleight of hand passing. But I remember last year he was pretty good at getting a quick ball away (an improvement on previous years). Okay. So I've had a thought. To help bring some more interest to our game. Was thinking. After TRC and then after northern tour. The All Blacks apon return should do a nationwide tour. Visiting each region of NZ. A different hub in each reason per each visit. For example. Tauranga then next tour post the second series, Rotorua. Also the smaller places like Gisborne/Manawatū etc Even doing light training runs. And interactions with the public. Not all eggs in one basket but be nice to have a Series Win and see the Players to congratulate them in person. Schools or sports clubs can get involved. Really celebrate our sport and nation. Proctor had a great game but ALB was even better. With Ioane still failing to impress you discussed Proctor possibly replacing Ioane if he is again poor in the first Argentina test. Why wasn't ALB also discussed as a possible Ioane replacement? ALB played very well at Centre throughout Super Rugby for the Chiefs. Given starting experience is so important at centre if Ioane needs replacing then surely starting ALB at centre with Proctor off the bench is a more experienced option than starting Proctor.

The main criticism is his inability lately of not being able to get the ball to his winger or fullback, when he's under intense defensive pressure. He defends well, hits the ball up well, but he's not distributing the ball under pressure. He missed a couple of opportunities v england where the pass was on, but he instead takes the tackle & the opportunity is gone. Fiji didn't bring the same defensive line speed on Saturday, hence ALB & Proctor had a field day.

Blackadder is the guy now hes in by miles however hes a 6 not a 7, but it doesnt matter so much these days since everyone has to get over the ball. sam darry yes hes in. we have short locks that is concerning to a point, I say that since Otojay is a short lock but he plays like a 6 but can jump high. so it is possible. i have to say finau is not the answer for our kaino type 6 hes also shorter at 193 hes not a tall 6 ,same height as paps. kaino was basically a slimmer version of lomu at 6'5 but only 110kg. im very happy wiht out half backs and front rows.

Not good to hear a player promoting someone who is not part of the team. Not good for team spirit especially with a strong Crusaders management group. Should be shut down.

Ethan Blackacdder did very little well in this test, come on Bryn putt he cantab bias away. He should now firmly been looked at as blinside only or dropped full stop. Daulton proved against England he is miles in front of blackadder
