There is one other thing in this photo that seems to fit. Not a lot of people know that the Kid, most of time, wore hats that had big and wide brims almost like sombreros. Thats the first thing I look at when another possible Kid photo comes up.

I've been in Sandia Man cave, in placitas or Las Huertas New Mexico, pretty big cave.i think it's open to the public again, after the walk way to the entrance collapsed, it's up on the side of the canyon.

I'm intrigued by the 1,2,3 written in pencil on the photograph. I suspect that the names were written in pencil on the back at one time, but were worn off over time. If you have it forensically analyzed at some point, maybe they can detect this.

The shoulders of BTK in your photo are heavily tapered down (no shoulders) just like the first authenticated photo of BTK. Another eyewitness that met BTK several times said that he had "no chin". Your photo of BTK, his chin is much less pronounced than the other two in the photograph. Doc Scurlock looks spot on to me, BTK is very compelling, Folliard less convincing, but could be.

My family are descended from the McCarty's in Ireland. The fact that he spelled it McCarty is a good indication that my family that settled in Nebraska were related by name. I look for family resemblances in these photos. I don't see it in the Brushy Bill photos. He just doesn't look like a McCarty. No offense. I do see the McCarty's in the other tin types however, and this as well.

My family are McCarty's and originally from Ireland. Family legend has it that we are related to the Kid. His father was, according to the story, my great great grandfather's brother. His name was John McCarty who died in Andersonville Prison in GA. His grave is there and it includes his name. He had a brother whose name was William Henry McCarty, but, again as the story goes the Kid was named after him. I have pictures.

Billy the Kid had very narrow shoulders. Also had small hands and narrow wrists-- you can see that these are smaller than the other 2 fellas. Those leather boots he's wearing look very much like the ones in the famous tin type.

He had large wrists comparative to his hands, that's why he was able to slip handcuffs.

The center guy, the boots he is wearing, there is a pair of boots that look an awful lot like those boots in the Fort Sumner Museum. They're in the Billy the Kid stuff just a few feet down the wall from the gun display where Billy's rifle is located. These boots are labeled as Billys boots. There are several videos in You Tube on this. Just type in Billy the Kids boots. I went and took a very long look of the boots Billy is wearing in the famous tin type (the 1st one) and man your guy sure looks like he's wearing those same boots.

who ever the guy is in the middle has the same exact build and stand as brushy bill Roberts..it's amazing the resemblance. I am now more convinced than ever that brushy bill is indeed or was in fact billy the kid. This is an amazing find.

Wow… so cool. I read somewhere and I can’t remember where I read it but it was said that billy had a six gun with Pearl grips that he absolutely loved. I believe he bought it for 25 bucks if I remember correctly. It would appear the middle guy has that same gun…. Which is supporting evidence that this very well could be the kid!! I’m gonna have to find where I heard that from. I’m honestly thinking brushy bill said it…

That fellow in the middle appears to be to tall in height to be “Billy the Kid” based upon the one historically correct picture that is known of William. Do not want my comment to be taken as negative. Hope that it can be proven that the picture is really him. We need more pictures of this legend. Am a fan of The Kid. Think what he did was justified after Tunstall was gunned down.

His boots are ridiculously large heeled giving him a forward very tall stance. Both Tom & Doc have their legs crossed not giving them a full stance. Believe the boots are even the same from his original photo however those days guys would have to have them repaired and altered often. After new years I will be doing another video with this professionally blown up poster size giving more detail. Thanks for looking.👍

Thats highly unlikely Doc. Look at the ear loobs of the known picture of him as as older man. His ear loobs are much larger and unattached. In this photo the man on the right has attached ear loobs. That feature never changes .

The asymmetrical eyebrows stand out to me, which a lot of people point out in the first tintype.

Another thing I notice is that Doc's pistol grip is dark in color (probably wood) and the guy you think is Billy, his pistol grip appears to be nearly white. Billy was said to have a pearl handled pistol that he was very fond of. I can't remember where I heard that at, but it may have come from Brushy Bill, if you believe he might have been BTK.

Billy the kid was a woman, and Charlie Bowdre was Charles Beaubien Maxwell. Look up Julia Lonergan Rodriguez her book (The Secret Life of Billy the kid)

Hate to burst your bubble... but you are wrong on just about everything from a historical aspect! BTK (5'8ish) was NOT taller than Tom or Scurlock! PERIOD! And Toms last name was Folliard, NOT with an 'O!' The O was his middle initial! Tom was quite tall ...roughly 6 ft. Scurlock was slightly taller than Tom! AND FINALLY... Scurlock's buckle was NOT hit at Balzers Mill... Charlie Bowdre's was .... ... and George Coe lost his right index/trigger finger that day, and Richard Brewer was killed!
