I had the great pleasure of seeing Billy in person on 2 occasions. Each time I went with about 10 friends whom I had converted into "Big Yin" fans. This amazingly talented man overcame a difficult life as a young boy to become the hands down funniest human on earth. I have never laughed so hard in my life as when I watched him perform. He deserves all of the good things life can provide. Even though I can recall most of his humorous stories by heart, it still makes me laugh to see him tell it again. He is a world's treasure.

If you had seen Billy live you would know his act wasn't just stories. He would talk about anything that had happened to him or he'd seen that day or that week or previous week. That's why the videos here are a poor substitute for what he does live, most have been edited in some way. The best option to live, are the DVDs.

@@DieFlabbergast On the greater scale of things Connolly has a small following compared to more complex comedians, who reach international audiences and cultures. Connolly, Tierney et al appeal to lowest common denominator audiences and do not draw the numbers that great humorists do. They rely on props, in the form of playacting, to mask the true person and their words which when exposed for what they are, are inane. The UK media can convince large portions of its public of virtually anything. I hope you laugh and smile each day, come what may.
