Hey Babish, you’ll probably never see this comment, but I used to work at Sugar N Spice on Balboa Island that the banana stand is based off of. My technique is to dip, harden, dip, harden, dip, then roll the banana in a container of whatever choice of topping the customer chooses. This allows the banana to soften a bit, and have a much better chocolate shell.

@BelfryHex6 жыл бұрын
My name isn't Andrew but I did have a banana intolerance, but I discovered that they can be temporary and your body can regain the ability to digest bananas so now I am swimming in those naners.
@ohrats7316 жыл бұрын
Belfry do you happen to know what caused it to go away? My brother became intolerant to apples, bananas, kiwis, and a few other fruits out of the blue a few years ago. He would love to be able to eat them again. He’s so sensitive to apple he cant even eat things sweetened with apple like some popsicles and some Dunkin’ Donuts smoothies. Even cooked apples and bananas are a no-go
@BelfryHex6 жыл бұрын
For me, it just took a little time. There could be a few reasons why you gain banana intolerance and to different layers of severity but you could have a chance that whatever is causing it (some sort of bodily stress or trauma perhaps)- will go away. For me, I suffered great pain from not being able to digest bananas and mild discomfort from kiwi and avocado which all contain the thing that causes banana intolerance (not potassium), but after 6 years I found out it can be temporary so I ate a ton of bananas - to only slight discomfort but not full blown issues like I had initially. If he has an issue with apples - then that could be something of an entirely different nature. It could potentially be an intolerance to fructose itself more than sucrose (cane or beat sugar) which could potentially be something that may not go away rather than just a banana intolerance.

Haha! When I heard you say tonkatsu, I was wondering why you were making soup. There are two similar sounding words in Japanese and both are food. Tonkatsu, which you said, is actually a deep-fried panko-breaded pork cutlet. Tonkotsu, which you made, is the pork bone broth used for ramen. Great video! I'm a huge fan and wish I could make your recipes.

Ohhhhh thank you. Was kind of hoping for tonkatsu though, even if it would make no sense

K, you know what you do? You buy yourself a tape recorder, just record yourself for a whole day. You might be surprised at some of your phrasing.
@gracelyndodson49936 жыл бұрын
Tbh, this channel is so important. As a suuuper poor college kid, every video Babish puts out there makes cooking so much more accessible. I was thrown out of my house as soon as I turned 17 for being gay, so I had no idea how to cook a basic meal prior to watching this channel and seeing someone break it down into something manageable. Thanks, dude.
