Your videos are the only ones I actually enjoy watching to study. Actually, it’s less about studying and more about stimulating curiosity, appreciating how cool the human body works, and that great feeling you get when you finally understand something that has gone over your head before. You’re the best, Dr. Mike!

I read several research articles, read many textbooks but none of them cleared this topic as you did. I was trying to simplify this process in my mind for days and here you are detangling everything and presenting in a very interesting manner!!! I cannot thank you enough! I really respect your effort here

I'm not going to lie, I'm not too big a fan of how the new videos speed up when you write. One of the main reasons I love your videos is because the buffer time of explanation and writing, helps me process. Now that it is sped up, my mind doesn't have, what used to be, a beneficial processing time. Just thought I'd throw this out there incase I'm not the only one.

Great stuff - what is the reason for the reduction of platelets from COX-2? Flush the wound to clean before clotting sets in? Also, why the fever for trauma? For infection I always thought body was making it's own environment hostile.

Hello sir, I am an engineer by profession and have nothing to do with medical science. But currently I am on a journey to get fit and muscular, and your bio video really helped me to understand the human body. I have a question to ask if you can please answer. When and why my body decides to use which energy source to fulfill the calorie needs. In other words when my body decides to burn fat , when to burn carb and when to burn protein for daily calorie requirements. And If I am in a calorie deficit, what will my body burn first and how much
@DatTienNguyen25122 ай бұрын
First, Glycogen ( Storage form of carb (In liver and muscle) ) Second, Lipid ( fatty tissue ) Finally, Protein

Wait, wait!!! What about acetaminophen? Nevermind. From wiki ☺️ Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is also a COX-2 inhibitor almost exclusively within the brain, and only minimally in the rest of the body although its not considered an NSAID since it has only minor anti-inflammatory activity.[3][4

I am confused, why coxib is the one needed to have a dortor's prescription before you buy it, while the other NSAID has no need prescription, where as you said first few names of NSAID mention are dangerous on other function of the body. Sorry for my english. I Hope this could be answer. Why?

Hi, I wish you could do better on your sliding filamet video. It is so extremely frustrating to see the same "explanation" repeated again and again whem it obviously doesn't work at all. Your video explains why the myosin and the actin filaments slide together and hold ONE TIME, resulting in a minimal contracrion of the muscle. It does however NOT explain why this process could happen repeatedly, resulting in a further shortening of the muscle. Once the myosin and actin detach, the filaments are pulled to their original positions since there is nothing mentioned that would hold them in place.

what your thoughts on using NSAIDs to treat a muscle strain (such as a lumbar sacral sprain) - because I've read different research articles on this, some saying inflation is useful for tissue repair, while others saying reducing inflammation is better overall for healing

@DrMattDrMike, certainly not! From the US here. Just found your channel today as I am desperately searching for something, anything to help with unbareable 😢pain and nerve pain in my that started from a bad dental injury in my early 20s. I since lost my teeth due to severe to me and my elderly parents by an extremely narrarsist sister. On gabapentin, hydrocode, and gabapenentin. Not helping. If there was a way to burn my nerve endings, I would.
