Nothing beats a proper running form, a good form comes with efficiency, less injury risk, improves coordination and balance to help you become a stronger and faster athlete. If having a beautiful form is what you have ever dreamt of then you are in good hands.
Thanks for your abundant support!

The things Paul said about how you need to find your form on your own... I try to mimic elite's form in my running, can say it definitely helps. When I first tried it, I was aimng to replicate Paul's form 100%, but it had diminishing returns. Just some ideas from his form added to my natural form was the sweat spot I think.

Elite form when running feels good for a while but starts to hurt
@maloxi1472
@maloxi1472 Жыл бұрын
@@Ccscenario Because the peak ROI on their biomechanics happens within a narrow cluster of cadence/stride length/body morphology/fitness/racing distance parameters. The crazier the paces, the narrower this cluster will be. If you try to copy his 180+ steps per min, 2.1m+ stride length, forward lean, arm swing,... for your own 5k races, you're either gonna die or break down very quickly because you just don't have the cardiovascular, physiological and neuromuscular adaptations. However, some aspects of that running form (insofar as you're not completely unfit) are gonna be very useful in workouts. When I run easy, I tend to fall into a shuffle or a bouncy stride because I'm so slow. When I run tempo, my cadence increases drastically, my stride gets firmer and I lose the excessive vertical oscillation but I don't start to look even remotely as efficient as an elite 5k runner in his last 1k until I get to 400m intervals and below. I believe that a very respectable training goal for less experienced runners like us should be to learn, for any pace (easy, steady, threshold, anaerobic lactic, sprint,...), smooth tradeoffs between an ideal running form for our body type and what we can achieve with our current level of fitness. Given enough time, those things will naturally seep down from conscious thought to muscle memory 😉

@Paul Chelimo That's very thoughtful of you 👍 But the company, Leomo, isnt really a startup anymore. They launched in 2014/15 and have had a line of bike computers available since 2017. They have a very wealthy cofounder and wealthy investors in Taiwan (Foxconn, known for worker abuse, sucide, being described as labor camps, and more), Japan, and the US. They are also sponsoring various high level athletic teams and are an international brand. Leomo can afford to pay you. They are just using you and other high level athletes to simultaneously get free data, hardware testing, and most importantly, marketing. They sell their tracking hardware and require a subscription for the software. There isn't anything particularly innovating about any of this either, it's just they got a deal with Foxconn so they can out manufacture most other companies with their labor camps. It all seems pretty exploitative to me.

LOVE THIS VIDEO, and particularly your "Have good form or suffer for the rest of your life" quote. It's surprising to me how many elite level runners and triathletes have poor form, including even heal striking. I don't understand why more runners aren't dissecting and continually working on their form like this. Any endurance sport is a matter of energy conservation through maximization of efficiency. This video was great to see. Immediate fan of the channel and new subscriber.

We have America's undisputed best middle distance runner based in arguably one of the best training bases in the country and yet I don't see even one prominent "pro" trying to team up or even do a little training with Paul... They would rather stay in their little petty social circle in Oregon or Boulder more concerned with growing their social media and be beaten every time rather than learn and work with the very best... Keep kicking their a$$ Paul!
