THANK YOUUUUUU! Now I can save my brain cells from admiring this Biorb and my money 💓. I have seen other plant KZbinrs set them up but, never later updates or reviews. I don't know if negative reviews are allowed if the company sends it to you, as a sponsorship.?. The white sci-fi look is what has mostly prevented me from trying it. I may have taken the plunge is it was black😱. My natural light space is taken up by plants and to put a Biorb in that space would take up prime plant real estate. Hopefully, the company sees your review and makes some simple adjustments. You aren't a negative person normally, you are more about helping and fixing any problems 😍. Thank you again,I love you and your videos 💞.

Wow! Really appreciate the time invested to develop some justifiable opinions! I have been wanting one of these but did feel like they were a little too good to be true. Honestly, the only con that really is deterring me is the light situation. One of my main reasons for wanting was for a low light area. If I’d have to provide supplemental light for happy plants it would totally defeat the purpose! Yes I’ll wait so if 2.0 comes out to see if that’s an improvement. Thank you 😊

I first saw the biorb on KZbin when I was looking for information on how to make a terrarium, about two years ago. I thought this biorb sure looks pretty, but once I saw the price I was like: no way that I would ever spend that much! 😏 I just got myself a medium sized terrarium, cost 10 euros including sand, the charkoal and the stones for the bottom. I followed Serpa Disigns recipe for terrarium potting mix here on KZbin.
@johnwilson14893 жыл бұрын
My biorb is working fine. The light is sufficient for my low light orchids. The only thing I have to do is to drain the resuviour every now and then as I do water every 4-5days since many of my orchids are mounted.
@empyrionin2 жыл бұрын
Orchids were brought onboard ships, in closed terrariums, for months at a time (during the 17th century). No "watering every 4-5 days". Why do people shy away from closing their terrarium? It's practically heresy nowadays. I don't understand... Especially with a "smart" design which monitors temperature and humidity...

Hey Dani! Thank you so much for the honest review! I just wanted to let you know the correct word would have been “lit” instead of “litten.” Just wanted to help! I hope you can find an easier way to light up the bioOrb. It’s so large and the extra lights just make it an even bigger set up AND the lights aren’t even grow lights? Such a shame.

i think a regular aquarium is just as good for a terrarium setup and for me, a lot better than that🧐, but I love the shape and the specs it has. A huge glass fish bow like shaped for an environment setup is rare to have in my area😁👍
@milamilla19773 жыл бұрын
Big fishbowl type if terrarium should be insulated and kept away from sun, otherwise temperature is rising rapidly. Temperature control is very important, but orb has no means to control it.

in the video Kaylee posted, you can definitely tell her biorb has WAY STRONGER lights! Also, kaylee's lights look much warmer in color. In other videos as well you can tell that other's people biorbs have stronger and different lights as well. It's not just a camera's setting thing. There's something wrong with your biorb! Kaylee - in the same video - mentioned that the biorb she purchased from amazon has some fault. Probably you biorb came from a faulty batch.
@LileLoveIt3 жыл бұрын
@@SlMPATICA I also thought Kaylees Lights looks REALLY bright. I also thought her lights didnt have gaps between them . For that to happen she had to tape them shut with tape.

Yeah, I remember the specs are supposed to be 5400... I don't remember the measurement but I do remember that my western window on the 3rd floor off the ground had 4100, and my window doesn't have anything blocking the window, so the brightness on the BiOrb should be bordering on if not already too much for the plants she has in there.

I have seen many of these set up at my local pet store, and lights are bright in their orbs, it has a setting to raise and lower the lighting, you sure it’s up all the way? As the one at pet store are pretty bright, your lights look like its set on low. Nice video.

Excellent review !!
@cherryblue77972 жыл бұрын
Grow lights are mainly just stronger LEDS which have the colour spectrum set specifically for plants - plants can and will grow under regular LEDS but obviously you know your own plants best and some need more lighting. I do agree that the lights should be adjustable and the humidity and fans should have more setting options plus the whole thing should have connectivity especially for that price! Having said all that I strongly feel that your lighting unit is faulty. I’ve seen these before with the naked eye and if anything they were TOO bright and many users have complained about not being able to turn them down.

All of the points and criticisms you had of it would 100 % be things that would drive me crazy as well. It might be possible for someone to mod the existing product and upgrade it, but it's ridiculous that the company has put no effort into making a fully functional product and still charge a premium price for it. Definitely save your money and get an aquarium.

Wow this is a great review as I was seriously thinking of buying one to replace my old exo terra. But after what I saw and you said in the video it really isn't worth it for me. The leds are too weak, no Wi-Fi, no room to scape properly for my dart frogs. Shame really as its a gorgeous tank.

Dani, there is DEFINITELY something wrong with your biorb. I've had mine for years, and the lighting is so bright it actually burned the leaves of some of my plants. It's about 3 to 4 times as bright as yours. I actually covered up one of the lights because it was so bright. I've also found their customer service to be top notch. It's a damn shame you've had such a bad experience with yours. Contact them and see what they can do! That is NOT how it should look.

hmmm i was wondering as well , i saw a couple video they seem bright, and everyone has no complain about the light, but she did show the camera not capturing the real life brightness

Yeah, I remember Kaylee Ellen mentioning that her BiOrb was scorching her plants due to how bright it was. I don't quite remember the measurements, but I do remember that the BiOrb had lights that gave off more light than my Western window, and that's really saying something because I'm 3 floors off the ground with nothing blocking my window.

It definitely needs to be modded to have a full ring of lights. On mine I 3D printed a ring with two loops / circles of lights. I find the fan to be problematic, I would rather have the fan just circulate within the ball to knock down the condensation.
@AlbinoAxolotl3 жыл бұрын
Those humidity settings of “high medium and low” are such a joke! What is “high” 60%? 100%? What is low? 40%? 5%? Those numbers make a huge difference to the health of whatever plants are in there and are super important to know! They also change depending on the relative humidity in the surrounding environment, the season, and the temperature, so not knowing how to change your settings is a real problem! You can buy decent cheapie hygrometers for a couple of dollars so there is literally no excuse for this product to not give that kind of crucial information!

@@sdqsdq6274 Yes, but you have to visit a specialty store. There is a Glassware store in a city nearby that sells giant vases and fishbowls. But normally big box stores sell 5 gallon bowls that make a decent mini terrarium, albeit much smaller.

Hundreds of thousands of people around the World have oxygen ventilation systems at home that they use at night. These have similar sponge filters, except with easy access. The sponges are taken out on a regular schedule, washed in liquid dish detergent, dried thoroughly, and reused. In metropolitan areas, there are specialty companies that come out to verify that the machines remain in good working order. Yes, my knowledge does come from direct experience as a care giver.
