Great journey. Its a real shame that the Glasgow services on this route are now limited to 1 a day with the rest now going to Blackpool leaving only a 2 hourly Birmingham to Scotland (Edinburgh) service (excluding the slower Cross Country). The Glasgow really should be restored as it is the only Crewe to Glasgow service providing connections to many other destinations, also the hourly Euston to Glasgow is usually very busy so I am sure the demand is there and never understood why the second service on this route now goes to Blackpool.

I do like the Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolinos. Even when Virgin Trains once dominated the West Coast Main Line. And the Class 805 and Class 807 AT300s that are due to come into service from next year.

What I don't get about this route is why sometimes Voyagers operate it instead of Pendolinos as it is fully electrified and the Pendolino are better suited to the route especially as it means the fairly new Standard Premium class is not available on all services on this route which I have found to be annoying since the direct Edinburgh service only operates every 2 hours.

Electrified only down as far as coventry then it has to be diesel to reading untill basinstoke then its 3rd rail !!!

@@lifeisgood3386 Those services are Cross Country (from Manchester/Newcastle) but this route is Avanti West Coast to Euston which is fully electrified.
