Yes. I have PCOS and was prescribed birth control at the age of 17. I was on it for six months. I was an emotional wreck. Always crying. Also, I was extremely nauseous. Every single day, I felt like I was on the verge of vomiting. I'm *so* glad to be off that stuff.

I just stopped taking it for the third time (I tried different types each time) this last time I experienced depression, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and low libido. It was not worth it.

Good to hear, and really interesting, thanks coach Kait ! When I was younger and told other girls that I am not taking the pill they were "what but why? How are you doing?" When I told them it was dangerous and there was no way I take synthetic hormones they just laughed and told that sanitary towels were dangerous too... Too bad for them

I definitely have most of the symptoms and didn't even know that some of them were from the pill and I've been wanting to go off the pill for a long time now because I'm trying to be healthy and take care of my body I'm a carnivore so I know everything that I put in my body is good except for the pill so I think it's time for me to finally go off it so I can have my life back, it has caused me anxiety, depression, low self esteem, low libido, unmotivated, hormonal problems, weight gain and all of the rest of the side effects. I was also like you Kait when I got my period it was full on heavy and painful, I've had a child and when I was having contractions it was the same amount of pain as my period cramps so I was actually surprised I thought contractions would have hurt more I was so used to my period cramps that the contractions weren't that bad so I'll be going off the pill soon to get my mojo back and hopefully feel a lot better good luck to all the other lady's on the pill. Thank you Kait for making this video lots of love from New Zealand 🤗❤

I also started taking the pill because my heavy an painful period. But since I am on a low carb diet the difference is huge, no more painful period, I can continue with my life. I always say it, keto or low carb is not only for weight, there are so many benefits. It depends on each person, this way of eating is adapted to me, it may be not for everyone but at least or me is right

I don't take the pill regularly, but I do take it from time to time and wanted to watch this video to see what side effects I should be worried about. However, that part about iodine helping a lot with your menstrual problems is a fix I only heard about recently from Dr. Berg and has been absolutely life-changing for me. Even on keto I was still having cramps, and although I do eat seaweed from time to time, I wasn't getting in iodine regularly, so now I'm making sure to eat my seaweed snacks almost every day and especially near my period. I will definitely have to watch your video about it and see which supplement you take, but maybe a refresh on that topic would be helpful for newer subscribers experiencing these issues. Dr. Berg also recommened taking a calcium+magnesium supplement, which I think helped me as well, but I'm not sure how the calcium part fit in so maybe if you could add something in about that with the iodine video that'd be great! You're such a great resource, Kait! Love your channel and congrats on becoming a homeowner.

I never had birth control. But recently a Dr prescribed birth control for a 17 family member. After watching your video it really helps to know side affects. It was prescribed due to acne. So it’s not a good enough reason to use it. Thank you for your information. PS I never took the pill. I did however had 6 children. With no side effects 😊.

When I was in college I went on the pill and without trying I lost 20-25 pounds within the next year. Fast forward several years. I went off the pill and gained all that weight back and can't seem to lose it try as I may. Does anyone have any insight into why that would be?
@mirjamw66653 жыл бұрын
Ok not sure but maybe insulin resistance/pcos? You van watch her other videos for an explanation. But with too much insulin it is a lot harder to lose weight, and a hormone imbalance can cause too much insulin

I was on the pill off & on for about 20 years. I did gain weight one time that I got back on it. It did clear up acne but as you said it masked the reason why I was getting acne. I was lucky. I had regular periods but I did have painful cramps in my younger years before I got on the pill. I never really liked being on the pill. I stopped early this year at 51 yo because drugs like this one is really not good. I never took it more then 5 years at a time. I was getting at the 5 year mark & figured menopause is coming & should focus on being health for my over all health. I did notice that after I got off of it, my hair got super weird. It thinned out a lot. It happened the last time I got off of it. But I didn’t make the connection until this time. I was low on zinc so I focused on increasing my zinc levels. I take lugol’s iodine & chlorella tablets. They say the pill increases copper therefore that may effect iron & zinc levels. My acne came back but not too bad. My hair is still thin but it’s growing back thicker. I’m sure it will be back to normal in six months.

@madeleineholmkvist3 жыл бұрын
Hi! The birthcontrol pill does not mimic a pregnancy, it actually mimics menopause a lot more. Your own hormones get pushed down to almost nothing and the artificial hormones doesent have the same effect as your own would, therefore it is more like menopause. It is a myth that it is mimicing pregnancy. I just thought u would want to know :) Thank u for your videos I really enjoy them!

I think that's what I'm experiencing, a glimpse into menopause and it ain't pretty. I'm taking it as a part of the IVF process and I can't believe how intense these side effects are: fatigue, body aches, mental fog, achy joints... I'm taking the pill for the first time in about 15 years, but won't be on it much longer.

Whats really funny to me is, everyone talks about how terrible the pill is. But im having mild symptoms on the pill vs not being on the pill. I was very lowly depressed off it and.. my birth control makes me more increased sex drive.
@kevcom0005 ай бұрын
The issue is you’re most likely just masking the real issues. And think about it, you’re comparing the side effects of birth control to living with untreated conditions. As opposed to living with a healthy body so of course it isn’t as bad for you, that doesn’t mean it can’t be much better.

Do you think it would actually be beneficial for women with PCOS or adrenal hyperplasia who struggle with the effects of excess androgens?

It can reduce some of the symptoms but it only masks the problem. The root of it is still there so it's not actually improving PCOS.

Me again lol. I wanted to warn others...my sister started taking the pill just before getting married. She was 23. Her body blew up. She went from an A cup bra (I use to tell her not to bother with a bra!😊) to a D cup! All sorts of other things were happening too. Turns out her body had not finished puberty so going on the pill restarted those hormones. Be careful.

So, we just stopped and let you figure it all out by yourselves in a way we call "the hard way". I never let my wife take those. Her body is my body. And calling contraceptives "safe", is like calling having a baby "dangerous". I hope women will listen to you, Kait. Thank you for this. I am sharing this to my daughter.

Or they are also called science deniers, or religious (in a pejorative manner, of course). I mean, it’s not just women getting duped by big pharma to take oral contraceptives. What about all of the young guys these days who are getting ED ads shoved in their faces because their testosterone levels are in the pits? A simple solution would be to eat more red meat and do more strength training, but that’s “toxic masculinity”, I guess.

I feel like this video is very personal since the author had a bad experience. Personally I took the pill for 10 years, and then off it for 7 years. I experienced the total opposite of most of the side effects listed here, and I’m actually considering going back to them as they helped me with so many things. My acne, mood swings, weight, libido, and mental health were BETTER on the pill. As much as I don’t like the idea of taking hormones everyday, this is a highly personal thing, for some it has negative symptoms, for some it doesn’t 🤷🏼♀️
