regardless of what this uneducated woman is telling you, YOU CAN NOT REVERSE PCOS! you can lessen symptoms by losing weight but you will ALWAY have pcos. it just doesn’t work the way this lady wants you to believe.

To be diagnosed with PCOS you have to have two out of the three main symptoms. All three can be reversed entirely, in turn reversing a PCOS diagnosis. I work with and hear from women nearly every day who were able to reverse their PCOS using the methods I outlined 🙏 Read through some of these comments. FYI I am a certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition (university accredited), certified health coach through PHCI and completing my undergraduate degree in nutrition and exercise. I also work with dietitan's and doctors who agree with me that PCOS can be reversed. You might find Dr. Seeman's channel and podcast helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eniceoCDi96ZlZI She is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist who reversed her own PCOS. All the best on your journey to health!

@@Highwizardd dear incredibly unknowledgeable ignorant person. as a person with pcos whom is also studying to become and obgyn and has specifically done profound amounts of research on pcos, YOU CAN NOT CURE IT. the symptoms can be lessened and made to be nearly nonexistent with weight loss, the disease itself will never go away. one of the first things they tell you when you receive a diagnosis is that it is incurable.

It's true. By just eating more healthier, less carbs, less sugar and IF I was able to reverse pcos. I went from having no periods for 1.5 year to having it almost every month now. I try not to eat cold temp things and drink ginger water often. Losing weight, if overweight, helps too. I weight train as well. I told my doctor I wanted to lose it more naturally by losing weight. She told me not to put all my eggs in one basket. But I didn't want to take medication. So I stuck to it and slowly but surely my periods became more regular. I also follow some remedies from my culture like drinking certain soups with certain herbs and not eating certain foods. So don't give up and don't stress too much about it.

Before I was officially diagnosed with PCOS I gained so much weight, had missed periods or excruciating periods to the point where I couldn't even move out of bed for days, constant fatigue, you name it. My husband did some research on it and predicted I had PCOS, and then I had a doctor confirm that's what I had. I had tried a vegan diet and weight lifting. I went from 240 lbs down to about 230 lbs and that's where I stayed. Then we researched keto. We practically eliminated 98% of all carbs and increased our fat (primary fat came from olive, avocado, and coconut oil as well as Greek yogurt and some butter in moderation) and vegetable intake with continuous excersise (cardio and weight lifting). At first I didn't see the physical change, but I did FEEL it within the first month. Energy, motivated, alert, happier. Then the weight started to melt and my periods began to regulate without birth control. My hair started to thicken again and I didn't see as much facial hair. The painful periods were fewer and fewer. I essentially went from 235 lbs down to 194 lbs. It was amazing! So I believe PCOS can actually be reversed with lifestyle changes! So glad you posted this video!

Hi Mushi ~ I have been strength training for awhile about 8 weeks and the scale went up though I could feel a change - posture improved. Felt stronger in my back- which weirdly makes me walk with more confidence as I feel stronger. But- I gained almost 5 pounds- The machine they use at the gym said it was 3 pounds of muscle Other two probably water. So I keep going because I feel better- my weight finally today went back down to the weight I started the gym at. I have 3 weeks left at the gym and plan on still doing strength training at home. How long or what was the transformation like when you finally start loosing weight. I hope you answer because I see many weight loss success stories though few with PCOS and even fewer who have had hairloss. And am encouraged to see your hair improved also.

@@ride_with_me Hi! I'm so glad you touched base with me! Core workouts are crucial for posture and overall strength. It includes your back, legs, and torso. You strengthen the muscles in your back, you walk more upright an alleviate a lot of pain from your lower back. It's amazing! So the first time I started with the keto and the weight training I gained weight instead of losing it, which was so discouraging. But my husband told me it was normal because muscle weighs more than fat. Because you're gaining muscle, your weight will increase slightly (me it was something like 7lbs in 2 darn weeks. I was so sad!) However I did physically see a difference. I saw it in my waist and in my face (oddly enough that's the first place I lose it). My clothes were starting to loosen up a bit. After about a month is when I started to see the weight drop on the scale, and I physically started to see it on my legs, arms, belly, face, and back. As I continued, I started to have more energy, more motivated, less pain on my joints, clearer skin, better breath (I say that very seriously. No matter how many times I brushed my teeth my breath would be awful. I had dry mouth as another side effect of the PCOS. Eating healthier and dropping the weight helped A LOT) stronger hair and nails, less facial hair, and way less painful periods. It was amazing. So you're on the right track. Keep strength training and eating the right portions. My weightloss journey took about a year ( a few months less than a year) and it was tough but VERY doable. You got this! Once you drop the weight you'll feel so different and amazing! Also be sure to watch your diet, like portioning and what not. It plays a big role in what your body uses to burn for fuel. And don't starve yourself either. That was my first mistake. lol. If you have any other questions or whatnot please feel free to ask me. I'd love to help! Keep rockin' it!

PCOS is not always accompanied by insulin resistance. I have intuitively consumed low carbohydrates almost all my life, I have a low body mass index and have been repeatedly laboratory confirmed to lack insulin resistance, and yet I have lived with PCOS all my life. and I forgot to say - I maintain a sufficient level of physical activity. You give the right advice for most, but not for all. For those who, like me, already lead a healthy lifestyle, your video can only be demotivating. And nothing will cancel the fact that other girls can enjoy chips and soda while lying on the couch and not have consequences in the form of acne, irregular periods, etc. and with PCOS, all these good habits can only remove the symptoms. These tips are still good for maintaining overall health, but they are not a cure for PCOS at all.

What is a sufficient amount of physical activity? Try resistance training and walking more. There's always room for improvement with diet and exercise. Also intermittent fasting.

You also could be missing enzymes that convert myo-inosotol into DCI. Look it up it is all related. Also skinny people can get insulin resistance. Make sure you research the sub clinical levels. I notice the levels from Labcorp and from doctors can vary. It was the same way with my sister finally getting diagnosed with Hashimoto's. It isn't the general test for thyroid she had to take and they had to catch it when it was low. These tests aren't always super accurate because the body is always changing states. NOTHING about this video is demotivating. Keep researching.

Excellent information. I'm 66 and still trying to get diagnosed. But I believe PCOS is it. Youthful years spent with irregular periods, infertility, hypothyroidism (led to a thyroidectomy) and adult acne. Post menopausal years spent with high testosterone levels, high bp, type II diabetes, male pattern baldness, acne, alternating constipation/diarrhea, heavy body hair growth, all of the named symptoms. I've noticed a lot of women in my age group with male pattern baldness which affects our self esteem tremendously. Thank you for sharing this information. Thanks for spreading awareness about this! So many women with PCOS think birth control is the only option because nobody tells them otherwise. My OBGYN never even mentioned to me that I was insulin resistant, she just said birth control would control my PCOS. I went on years eating a standard american high carb diet while taking birth control feeling horrible. It wasn't until I saw another doctor for a different reason that mentioned the benefits of reducing carbs and IF for PCOS. I've been doing low carb & IF for a couple months and I truly feel SOOO much better and I've lost 20 pounds.

From then on I did my research as I didn't want drugs or depression to plague my life unecessarily. I have two kids. Before I got pregnant I got a hormone panel done and saw where I stood. I figured out what excerises worked for my body. This journey is filled with learning curves everyday when it comes to eating. I appreciate how this video highlights the basics. Snacking and sugar are my enemies but everyday I develop a little more self control to the point where it doesn't phase me when I can walk by my cupboard and not pick up snacks. Some days are harder tho. To know that I can listen to my body when I am not hungry and not pig out just because is something so awesome and I have come far. Although I have ways to go with getting my sleeping on point, I am in it for the long haul to prevent long term consequences. This video motivated me that much more to support my body so PCOS can be history. How do you know when it's history though? Your hormone panel comes back regulated after X amount of tests?

PCOS has been a burden all my life, but diet has been key.💙 I’m vegetarian so I eat a lot of veggies, nuts, Greek yogurt, tofu, grains, and occasionally eat something bad, but it really works out for me

Hi Kait. Thank you! This has helped me think all hope is not lost with my PCOS. I’m not looking to get pregnant but I know a part of the problem is that I have obesity. I have most of the symptoms including sleep apnea. Unfortunately, I feel all of this is connected and with some lifestyle changes, it might help. I do love carbs so I’m going to try to eat less before I decide to let it all go. I’m also trying to follow your guidelines and hopefully my PCOS might be gone. I am very frustrated in having this condition so hopefully these changes will make me feel better in the long run.

Thanks for the fantastic video Kait. I really think more awareness about Insulin Resistance and a Keto lifestyle can revolutionize how we approach this dreadful condition and the metabolic diseases that come with it. I didn't know I had PCOS until it had already caused me a lot of damage and health problems with weight gain at adolescence and depression (I would love to see a video on IR and depression). I was a cross country runner when I was younger and I never ate any more than anyone else (actually less) but I could never lose weight. Even until recently, I used to swim 3500metres 4-5x a week but I lost no weight, had irregular periods and my hair just continued to get thinner and thinner . Since starting keto a few weeks ago, I haven't slayed the pounds yet but I have lost weight for the first time past my set point and I had two consecutive monthly periods since I cannot remember when! I feel hopeful about making positive health changes and really adapting this as my new lifestyle. I look forward to all the new changes coming my way physically and mentally. I so need to work on sleep though! I really hope women, especially young girls, who see such drastic changes prior to puberty or alongside with it recognize these changes as a major hormonal imbalance resulting from PCOS and not due to personal failure or not exercising enough. There really needs to be more awareness on this and I think IR is the key to understanding childhood obesity. Keep doing what you are doing. It is brilliant work and much needed. I wish you continued success. P.S. You are such a beautiful young lady and totally remind me of Deb from Dexter :)

Yep, in my personal experience, this is totally true. Three years ago, I actually watched what I ate, lost some weight, and got pregnant. My other pcos symptoms also lessened. After having my son, I stopped caring as much and gained weight, and my symptoms returned. So yeah, you can totally “reverse” your symptoms and get better, just like you can later “reverse” them again to become worse. I think it works both ways! 🤷🏻‍♀️

A couple of months ago I missed a period and went to my doctor to check and she told me "I am the type pcos likes" and that I was fat because of pcos and not the other way around. I was relieved for a minute because "well, I can't do anything about it so I might as well continue eating unhealthily" but soon that turned to let down and anger and I was ecstatic to hear it IS reversible and now I’m trying keto diet and going to the gym after the adjustment period to avoid stressing my body too much at once. Have her see doctors now! Pcos is more than just something that makes it hard to get pregnant! Also don't trust any doctor who tells you to just put her on the pill. A doctor told me 20 years ago that I could always get pregnant easily with pcos just by taking fertility medication. 3 miscarriages later I'm so mad I didn't get a second opinion when I was younger. Bioidentical progesterone which you can buy at a health store always helped me get my period back easily.

I can personally attest to this. I started my period very early (9 years old. For the first two years it was somewhat irregular and then at 11 it stopped. For 5 years, doctors were no help, didn’t want to deal with me bc of my age, finally when I was 15-16 they threw some progesterone pills at me and told me to lose weight with no real guidance. After years of doing a ton of research and finally growing up and buying my own food and being able to experiment with my diet, I slowly got my periods back and when I went fully carnivore, I IMMEDIATELY had a 28 DAY CYCLE. Which had never happened before, I was always 5-8 weeks even when it came back. Even when I’ve been eating carbs and not on track, I have figured out that if I drop my carbs back down to nearly nothing for seven days I can get my period back within that week.

In my country and culture, sources of carbs like potatoes and grains have been very important for ages, it had started long before processed foods and fast food meals became available and popular. The cultural importance of bread here is huge, there are poems about bread and older generations used to teach all children that you shouldn't waste any crumble or let it rot, or put it in a garbage bin because bread is a symbol of Christ and the holy Eucharist. My nation consumes loads of dumplings, pasta, jam, pancakes, and beer. We celebrate anything and everything with cake. Meat is almost always served with potatoes (or rice). There are many types of soup served with pieces of pasta, bread crumbles or rice in it. This is why I can understand that keto diet is just too much because you would cause yourself or others massive trouble on any occasion like family gathering or even eating out with anyone, honestly. This is why I decided, wanting to live normally with friends and family, that I will try as hard as I can to keep any food that I prepare low GI so that I can have a cheat evening with a mainstream meal from time to time and it won't ruin anything because the next day I'm back to my now-normal low GI diet. Seems to work for now, combined with some exercise.

Great video. Nowadays doctors just want to push you with medication and to just get on with it. I have pcos and lately been doing keto diet. Still Tring to get to grips with what to eat in a keto. But I was told that I would have to eat every 3 hours which didn't really help me a lot. So I started doing intermittent fasting. I think I have been making progress for sure with the help of some natural supplements too. 😊 I do find it hard sometimes I crave foods 😂😂 like cinnamon rolls (it's my guilty pleasure).

I had no idea I had PCOS. In fact my ultrasounds of my ovaries were always normal. When I removed my IUD I had painful late periods, but I got pregnant 🤷‍♀️ after my baby I had an ultrasound and saw the cysts on my ovaries, it scared the hell out of me. I did gain quite a bit of weight during pregnancy when I used to be low carb/high healthy fats. Ughh

Your video is so encouraging. I have insulin resistance. I needed someone to explain these things to me. I really appreciate you understanding that not all people are ready to jump into the deep end of this pool. You have given me a vision of what I can actually start doing now, as well as things I may want move into later. Subscribed. Am looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks for increasing my knowledge and giving me renewed hope in the possitive changes I can still make. God bless.

I've been to at least 8 different OB Gyne and they gave me the same pill over and over. It made me menstruate, yes but I also gained weight, had mood swings and my skin folds remained dark. Fast forward to 2020 when I decided to stop taking the pill and made some lifestyle changes. It did work for me. Until now, my period became regular, and those previously mentioned symptoms were gone. I may have PCOS still but managed it.

Doesn’t keto hinder muscle growth though? Should we eat carbs after weight sessions? Can you bounce in and out of ketosis ?

Have you heard of treating some pcos symptoms with collagen? I started drinking collagen every day about a month ago, more for the skin benefits than anything. Surprisingly though my last period was way lighter than what I'm used to and was much more manageable. (Mine are usually extremely heavy and long) Also, another tip is taking vitamin d.

Hm I haven't heard of collagen treating PCOS, but I do believe collagen is beneficial for a lot of reasons! It could be you were possibly just low in protein as well.

Courtney when I started taking vitamin D it lengthened my period by one day, which for me was good as I’ve always had short/light periods or would skip months altogether. This was a sign of more estrogen.

I have so much to say, Firstly happy that you made this video. especially the insulin resistance. when the food pyramid was introduces: high carbs, medium amount of protein and low fat. Diabetes and other health complication skyrocketed. Why the insulin. Who profits? EVERYONE..the medical system, supermarkets, everyone. It is time we take our health in our hands and find the truth. By reversing the diet you will be shock how quickly 'Chronic illness' will go a way.
