Love this Lady! I recently starting making a roux with a couple strips of bacon for sausage biscuit gravy. The bacon itself is not part of the end result but when the flour and fat combine with everything else it is tremendous flavor enhancer. I’m definitely trying your recipe!

I'm trying your idea! I've never known anything to not be improved by bacon ... that makes perfect sense! Thank you for sharing that.

Only Marine Corps sausage / hamburger gravy uses a little soy sauce . Same recipe as all services that all have Worcestershire sauce . I forget ratio but maybe only a third as much as Worcestershire.

Good to know, Barry--I'll give that a try! Were you a cook in the Marines? Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸

Not a cook , but a breakfast favorite and any base . Years ago I googled the military recipe and found ours was different. I guess in some cook- off a general deemed ours should have soy sauce … and so it was .

Oh those generals, lol. I know very little about base-life. I would never have known they had cook offs and such. Interesting!

This would be good to do again in early November for upcoming Veterans Day . A real treat if wife would do it , or veteran themselves .Again all military gravy has Worcestershire. I don’t remember ever seeing a biiscuit .. always on toast ….. thus the name SOS . I guess you can say Served on a Shingle , but any vet will know what the first S is ! Good video by the way and wish you success for all the time it must take . The military sends cooks to culinary school , besides their on school . It is serious business keeping the troops happy . It means so much . On some operations in Vietnam after a couple days in the field , they would fly in hot food to boost morale. C rations get old quick . ( they did away with them and now MRE’s )

@barryshannon793 Good idea. I'll have to make a note for Veteran's Day next year. And thank you for the encouragement 💕 It's getting easier now that I'm doing it all in my apothecary. :)
