I used to have the Hoover steam and it just didn’t do a deep cleaning. I just purchased the Bissell revolution and WOW huge difference in the cleaning!! The only thing on the Bissell does not suck up the water for quick drying. Hands down Bissell!!!

The Bissell is also $150 more than the Hoover so keep that in mind and I'd expect the results it gave for the price. That being said, I am blown away at the cleaning power of the Hoover with that price difference. I would say this is a bit of an apples to oranges review just based on price alone.

@@VacMaster1991 I'm not arguing, i'm simply stating that for the cost difference between the two, Hoover is still impressive, and i'd expect the more expensive unit (Bissell) to do the job as intended. But since there is a significant dollar amount difference its hard to compare them head to head and expect the same/similar results. Also there is still almost a $100 difference between the two units, my earlier retail quote is for a similar Bissell unit, that has the same name.

One way to improve the Bissel cleaning dried stains is to open the hose port so that the liquid is not sucked up immediately and run the brushes over the stains to improve scrubbing, not sure if that is a possibility on the Hover.

Only use warm water. We used really hot water when we would use the machine and it ended up ruining the bottom of the tank. We had to buy a new tank because the machine wouldn’t spray water after checking the belts and priming the machine.

What I don't like about the bissell is that it takes longer fort the carpet to dry, because it only sucks the excess of the soap as long as I am spraying. With my hoover I had my cleaning faster, I could run the just spinning and the suction worked wonders. I am having hard time with the bissell, for this feature.

Great! I have a Bissell..but I discovered that if you also go slow over the stains, you get better results sooner. You gotta allow the bristles and solution to get down in the carpet than zooming over them like you do with a regular vacuum. Using other brand solutions can ruin the unit. It did with mine..it clearly says in the manual. Bissell has better scents in my opinion.

If you paid attention to the video you would have seen. I went slow with both machines early in the video. Plus holding the machine in one spot too long is actually bad for your carpet. I used a measured amount of Hoover solution in both machines. Plus they say not to use other brands so they get you to buy there overpriced stuff. If its carpet cleaner solution you can use it in these machines.

Thats what my husband said..so I used Bissell solution and a big jug of ZEB..ruined my Hoover..it started making a whining noise and electrical burn smell. So Ill just stick with the matching solution.

The Bissell revolution has much more aggressive brushes on its rollers. So it should scrub out dirt the Hoovers soft brush can't.

I love how much quieter the Hoover was! But. I noticed the hoover also smeared the stains as it was going. Edit- One thing I noticed, the suction lines between the two in the carpet. The Hoove didn't leave strong suction lines like the Bissel did. So it appears as the B may have a little more suction power as well

I really like the Bissell revolution the performance is incredible. I knew the Bissell would win because of the better nozzle design and the brushroll design. Are you going to keep the Hoover? These both are way above average carpet cleaners.

This was fun. Hoover, today, just isn't very good. Bissell has gained a lot of ground in the quality of their products.

Agreed, newer Bissell's tend to be build pretty well. The The Hoover in this video broke when I was replacing the belt after this video.

Dissolve some borax into the solution - it will GREATLY improve cleaning power without adding ANY suds at all.

The problem is if you don't dissolve it correctly the bits of borax can solidify in the pipes and clog them. Even if it's dissolved the borax can sill build up in the solution pipes.

@@VacMaster1991 Not at all - you dissolve it in a jug with boiling water from the kettle and there are no BITS left. I've done my whole house with this stuff, using many many refills in the Vax cleaner and have had NO problems. Borax dissolves complete in hot water. trust me!

@@VacMaster1991 Use it as an addition to your usual carpet cleaner concentrate and the effect is amazing. However, I would suggest going over the whole carpet area with just plain water afterwards to get some of the chemicals out.

I mean you get what you pay for, and if you can't afford the Bissell, the hoover is still a good buy if you can't drop the money on the Bissell. (Current prices for these two cleaners at Walmart (in my area are) Bissell: $264 Hoover: $144 Yes if you can afford the Bissell, 100% get the Bissell, but if you can't do to price, you have to admit, the hoover did a pretty good job for it's price point)

@@VacMaster1991 so the prices that I posted above, or prices that I found today for the two in your video, and like I said you get what you pay for, if someone has the money to get the Bissell great It's better to go Bissell but some people can't afford it and honestly if you can't afford the Bissell the Hoover did decent. I prefer Bissell over Hoover, however given circumstances I can't afford a Bissell with decent stats on it. The only thing that was in the same price range as the Hoover that I got (which is the hoover you posted) was the bare minimum for the Bissell at $120 That's also why I said in my area on my comment, in my area those are the prices that those carpet cleaners go for, in your area you may be able to get them cheaper. I'm not hating on your video I'm just saying that if you can afford the Bissell, definitely go for it, but if you can't the Hoover is a decent option as a backup

Red wine is a natural stain, made of grapes. Fruit punch usually contains red dye 40, which is almost impossible to remove.
