Something that might come in handy to know is that there is a hidden karma attribute. Basically it determines how lucky you are when the game does a dice roll. If you do evil things it gets lowered, which is why evil characters usually fail, and good ones massively succeed. I don't know if it will do anything, but you can try to balance everything you do with something good, comforting your friend for example. Ifk if this will work though Kev

Meditation can also help. It raises/fills a random (hidden) stat occasionally and yes, that includes Karma. Can be a good way to instantly "come back" from a life of crime if the RNG works out.

Kevin, if you master Taekwando, you get the Eagle Strike assault option. If you hit someone in a sensitive part (head, throat, etc.) then they always die. It works better if you’re fit, too

I did a life where I said yes to everything earlier today. My guy loved to be 99 years old suffered from yellow fever since age 7 married twice with 8 children who all died before him (including the wives) and was an astronaut for 45 years.
