💻Bitrate Trick for a GOOD QUALITY Recording!

If you record videos for KZbin for example you will need to make sure your bitrate is set correctly in your settings, it will make or break your recording quality.

Bitrate for recording is simply the amount of data being recorded from your screen at a given time - it is not tied to internet at all but rather your GPU and the storage space you use. Higher bitrates end up chewing through more storage as there is simply more information being recorded at one time onto your drive. Bitrate for streaming requires a connection since you’re uploading that data to someone else’s server instead of storing it to a drive, so yeah makes sense why you would need internet for that.

Question Are there any performance differences when recording with OBS between 60 or 30 fps in terms of fps loss "performance hit"?

@@hooda24ma There is, as your GPU is tasked with encoding double the framerate, which could make your recording software (the encoding) struggle. You can enable a stats menu in docks in OBS to see if you're dropping frames in the recording. In terms of raw performance it's usually a frame or a few frames of raw game performance as the cost.

I have a question. I was recording a video on obs and looking back there was two problems. My body wasn’t matching the audio. It’s like the audio was coming first and I didn’t say it concurrently. I was bugging and glitching out in the recording because I was using the elgato virtual camera on obs as a green screen. Also the second problem is at the end of the video, the audio started before I said it so I repeated the same thing twice basically in the recording. What can I do to resolve these issues? Thanks for the help.

Hi! You will want to mess around with your audio delay by clicking on the three dots at a audio source in the audio mixer, and then “advanced audio properties”. Here you can change the “sync offset” on given source. Increase it to give a delay, and decrease it for opposite effect. This is the best way to try to match audio with video is OBS, and I hope it works out for you! 😊

Don’t exceed 8000, but 6000 is the ideal for most type of streams.

You should go with 17.5k bitrate for recording, but if your internet speed gets better definitely try increasing it.

It means you have good internet! However doesn’t mean you should use 578 000 bitrate. For streaming don’t exceed 6000, but for recording you can experiment between 15 000 and 40 000
