I've always used mine upside down as you can pull your pack in and cover it like a hood to keep it dry!

Carboot sales you will find your bargains, £30 is still good considering it will last for decades, albeit it may need re-taping every 20 years or so.....lol

As simple as that. Mine has this issue. To be honest I use mine with the "hood" section on top as a flap over my head. The rest of the bivvy is still more than long enough to cover me completely.

Hi Bex, great tip re the Dpm bivvy, ive also found swapping out the pull cord for paracord makes a huge difference. All the best

I have also heard it doesn't (FOR SOME) I think the issue is the channel has friction ware, (IN SOME) bivvies. I guess you got lucky, and for those it doesn't work for, we need to reduce the friction by enlarging the channel....All the best bex

Do you mean the material is (bobbling) If so treat it the same as your beret before inspection, "shave it". Use a new sharp disposable razor, such as your wife's leg razor, don't blunt up your good face razor...b

@@bexbugoutsurvivor no it is the dutch army hooped bivi and there is a area were the dpm has come away from the goretex it looks like a bubble some one said to iron it and it will stick back to the goretex then i have been told it has delaminated and you can not fix it but there must be a way ? To resole it thought you might of come a cross it be for or now of some one who has

DPM is the name of the pattern of the camo (disruptive pattern material) I think you are talking about the tape that covers the seam. If that is the case, you can remove the old seam tape and iron on new tape www.surplusandoutdoors.com/waterproof-tape-for-goretex-clothing-1256685.html. A quick fix would be to remove just the problem area and re-seam it with a product called (Tenacious tape) www.amazon.co.uk/McNett-Tenacious-Tape-Fabric-Repair/dp/B005BLQTEE .
