I have a client who is an artist. We traded color theory lessons for nails until I had it down. I let a client leave with the absolutely worst pink for them possible and felt awful but I didn’t know why it was bad. I do exactly what Tracey said “We’re doing red? Ok, here’s 3-4 different ones and let’s look at them” it’s so important to make sure the colors work together and for the person. Thanks guys!

I have a time management tip that has helped me. I'm about a year in and just started to focus on speeding up my services so to time myself and not make my clients uncomfortable looking at the clock every 10mins I wear my watch and have it on the inside of my wrist so as I'm working I can look over just slighty to my wrist and the client never notices and it helps keep me on track. I love watching you guys, I follow you on Insta/FB and You Tube! You guys pack a ton of content in, such hard workers and I appreciate the quick responses from you guys when I have questions. Thank you for everything!!!

I couldn't AGREE MORE Habib!!! Thankyou for confirming this!! A BEAUTIFUL set of nails is about smart choices of colour and a few simple details! Complex designs are appreciated for the skill involved but they are not necessarily elegant or justified. You are not only COLOUR- CLUED, you're an all rounder, DESIGN-CLUED and I think it's because you can step back and be objective.🤗

I agree!!!! Color is so important, know your wheel and all the undertones. Art is wonderful, but if the undertone is wrong for the skin tone, all the art in the world is not going to make the nails look good.

OMG!! You guys, yet again. Another vid on a topic that I have just been worrying about. I was just asking advice on how home techs are doing it, or have done it? Bc i literally have the smallest time of the day to work on my nail biz. Two jobs, kids, and everything else in between, that when i get to my nail time it’s so late and my energy is on auto pilot. But, yes, like you guys said, you just have to find the time. I create a nail design at night just before I go to bed, post my designs the next day during my lunch breaks, and brain storm on my nail biz while working throughout the day. And everything I do, or need to do for my biz I note down on my phone and set an alert on my reminder app to go off to remind me that I need to work on that one thing during that day; during my nail time. I love it when my little red numbers on my reminder app goes down. Though there are always more going on. Haha Absolutely love this vid. Funniest one I’ve seen. Laughed through the whole thing with you guys. So much love yet again. Xx 💋

I still struggle with color design. I don't consider myself and very creative person so I get my inspiration from wherever and most of the time I will do that design 90% close to the original. I doubt my choices so I go with something that has already been done just to stay safe. Some clients tell me to just do whatever and I usually just stick to what I know like foil, sugaring and stamping. I think you can't go wrong with glitter as an accent either. What I think I am good at is time management. I know exactly how much time I need to spend on a client whether they get designs or not, 2 finger designs or 10 fingers. This is extremely important to my business because when I know this I know how many clients I can see in a day. I have also been trying better to make time for a lunch break. I know that by doing that I am doing myself a favor. I can be my best self for the rest of my clients in that day. I have to practice taking care of myself so that I can take care of my clients. So simple right?

I woul like to know how much your downtime is for nails? How long does your prep take, application, polishing etc. Thank you for this video.❤
@youngnailsinc6 жыл бұрын
A full set can take anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on length shape and the artwork.
@miriamheyningen89616 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. I am tring to win some time for a regular set. Medium length, gel aplication with gelpolish. Maybe you could give me some guidance with estamated time for each part? At this moment a full set (short length) takes me 2 hours. But my prep takes to long I think. From filing to applying tips is already 30 to 40 minutes 😔😔...

Thank you for the video. Can you give us some advice about color? For instance, one of my clients will say that she wants a mauve. I'll go to my wall and then she's like, that's not mauve, to all of the colors I bring over. I've definitely gotten better, but how do you know which two colors go good together, etc? Thank you again. 😊
@youngnailsinc6 жыл бұрын
It can be difficult because everyone sees color differently. So to you what is mauve may not be mauve to the client . This is where color swatches come in handy so your client can see the colors and decide what they would like

Danita Humbert also, we will so much more in color theory....

I hate it when techs are like "just pick your colour from a colour wall" and don't really care what they put on their clients. Colour and skintone should be matching and complimentin eachother, not clashing!

This was so good, I text my client about an hour ago with the same format , what colour out fit are you wearing to your event?, I thought I would put some options together ready for you. Colour is a huge part of it I feel, I don't get to do much art work on my clients they are a bit more like habib SIMPLE hahaha.thanks for this biz talk ! Cheers from Australia 🐨

What do you do when you have a client who insists on a god-awful color/design, you do it because "the customer is always right", and then they LOVE it, so they go around bragging "Tracy Ryerson did this design", but you're really mortified by how it looks? It's not a look you would like to be associated with.
@youngnailsinc6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you can make subtle suggestions to maybe change up the design to something that might be better. Suggest adding a Mylar or another glitter to really make the design pop.
