@land_and_air12504 жыл бұрын
63Limar you do know that the pride parades are over the top on purpose right? I mean they are literally playing on lgbt stereotypes when they do the parades. The point is to dull the stereotype, if u stereotype a group of people as a certain way and they adopt that, and you don’t like it, then you really have no one to blame but yourself. Stereotypes are meant to make people feel ashamed, but pride basically says that even if you are the stereotype, you still shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are as a person.
@63Limar4 жыл бұрын
@@land_and_air1250 IDK, I don't see any point in that. I just feel cringe when I see people doing that, even tho I am kinda related to not being hetero. LGBT people are normal as anyone else, but this over the top "playing stereotype" is trying to make an opposite argument.
@land_and_air12504 жыл бұрын
63Limar I think it more points out that one one considers to be normal is entirely subjective and the concept of a normal itself is rather made up as it’s a socially constructed construct. What is and is not normal to some may be completely different to others and pride emphasizes this part. In recent history and even now being LGBT+ is considered by at least a good portion of the population to be abnormal. Therefore it would make sense to tackle the question of what makes something normal rather than try and stuff yourself into a sense of normal that is actively trying to exclude you. If you think pride is abnormal, then their point is working to some degree

So, when I see the term "animation" I tend to think about the act of creating an illusion to make it appear like something is moving, or more specifically, manipulating objects to move them as a representation of something not literally happening. So this technically qualifies, but I'd probably say this is more just drawing still images in a sequence to guide us what to look at first and as a back drop for the commentary. Basically, this is slightly more animated than a comic book at best (the characters and objects drawn in their rendered state don't actually move). But I do like the drawings. Sorry, semantic. And this is really just about comparing this video to the "storytime animation community" which this is obviously banking off of, maybe with shades of whatever those adverts that just show someone drawing illustrations of whatever they're talking about that tend to be scams or propaganda (not that this isn't exactly what the video critiqued in question is, it's just that it's more character focused and actually colored in).

It was definitely less vitriolic at face value, but the underlying sentiment of "I think your existence is wrong and your relationship is evil, you should definitely change that, but I believe I still respect you and that means I'm a good person" isn't exactly better. @@jetstreamsam5820 Yes. Suppose you disagree with guys wearing wake up (which is stupid, but whatever). Suppose I brought you two gay couples. One had the guys wearing pick and eyeliner and the other come from the army. They both hold their hands. If you have a symmetrical negative response to both of the couples, you had a problem with the tested variable (the gayness), if not, then it may be an issue with how guys express themselves. However, conflating sexual orientation with personality is the error most people make. I is not different that saying you do not support black people. You may not like black music, but the blackness, as an instrinsic and immutable feature of their race, would be racists, much like not supporting (because you are supposed to be a compassionate person, if you have any morals of virtues of kindness) the LGBTQ+ identities would. You having an issue with being gay, lesbian etc... is no different that you have an issue with black people because of their skin color since neither of them choose to be who they are. Furthermore, there are no overriding reasons to not support their existence (much like how you are supposed to support the existence of your fellow person by being respectful and loving), we are talking about their civil rights and their ability to safely express themselves within society. This is why the answer is actually "Yes" if you understand what is being discussed.

@@viennasavage9110 saying you ‘don’t support’ is the easier way of saying hate, no matter how you twist it. Like (for example) I don’t support Trump, meaning I most likely hate Trump. I have recently, and that was a relief. It’s just like, you want to know if someone is a murderer, it seems pretty logical to want to know it because if you don’t like those people, it can affect your view on the person. I want equality for all persons independent of race, gender, sex, or sexual orientation. People deserve to live happy lives and have the same liberties afforded to all innocent persons. By innocent, I mean the fulfillment of people doesn't lead to the perpetuation of suffering of others. It isn't that we should show decency, it is that we have no reason to. This is exactly how my coming out went. Like, really, replace homophobe with bisexual and there you are, I'm this girl. The only difference is that I couldn't move to another middle school so I had to endure this school for two more years, alone. It really broke me at the time and ruined 3 years of my life. When most people learn to socialize, I was just being hated, people spread rumour about me, made fun of me and basically bullied me for who I was. And obviously I started to hate everyone in return. I was so fucking depressed I thought I was gonna die before turning 14. I still have a lot of sequels from that time (mostly a lot of panic attack, a pessimistic view of everything, a very very low self esteem and obviously no social skills). But I'm in a better place now and I put a lot of efforts in becoming a better person everyday. I hate this video so fucking much. This kind of things really makes me genuinely angry.
