The Poet was actually on to something, look into the making of a movie called brainstorm by Douglas Trumbull, also the special effects designer for 2001 a space odyssey. 'his innovative new High Frame Rate Format (70mm film stock shot and projected at 60 frames-per-second) - which he had hoped would enhance and perhaps even revolutionize the cinema-going experience' why was Trumbull interested in higher Frame Rates? Look into the research he did at the famous Esalen-Institute into non-drug based healing, in the pursuit of altered mental states without the use of narcotics or pharmaceuticals. Connect the dots, its fun reading up on this. “What we have tried to do is make a movie that will feel like a dream. You don’t simply watch a dream as a passive observer, you fall into its world. A dream surrounds you, and at the same time penetrates at a sensory level. If we’ve done our job right, you won’t simply see Brainstorm. You will feel it.”' a week before filming began, Trumbull gathered much of the cast and some crew at the famed Esalen-Institute in Big Sur in the Monteray Peninsula in California, a retreat where “seekers” can “explore deeper spiritual possibilities… forge new understandings of self and society and experiment with these new 'non-drug forms of healing'". They agreed to get hooked up to wires and big plasma tvs with the highest frame rates they could get, kinda like an archaic vr setup, and then were sent on a virtual roller coaster ride. Well in their research, the institute and Trumbull found as you increase frame rate and flicker rate and higher gamma bands, it acts much like a narcotic and evoke hyperactivity and for your brain to process all this information it needs to stay in the mid frequencies, I don't know all the science exactly but the mid frequency are associated with day dreaming or trance like states. There are studies that demonstrate that television watching converts the brain from beta wave activity to alpha waves, associated with a daydreaming state, and a reduced use of critical thinking skills. Alpha brain state, Trumbull and that institute are real, don't take my word on it please fact check me go for it.

I absolutely appreciate how timeless and present moment this video looks after the upscale for the image itself. While that her clothes and hair in the video also appear entirely timeless fashionable to this present moment 35 years later as well. She also has great wisdom in explaning that such complex structures/technology like tvs and electronics can certainly be viewed like a small city for the sum of their parts functionings.

This video to me represents an inner child which is so undeniably pure and precious, and fascinated by the world we live in. Untainted by any of the things others wish to manipulate and morph that child into becoming or believing. Part of why I find Björk so wonderfully beautiful is because she’s an embodiment of who that child really should aspire to become. When the rest of life can boil down into a grey, mundane, and meaningless misery, someone like her deciding to show you her imaginative interpretation (just because she felt like it!) of what a complex and confusing mess of circuitry really looks like, it comes as such a special feeling, like the warmest hug when there’s no one else there to offer it to you. I struggle to find the words that really describe how that makes me feel, she evokes expression and curiosity in a way that just makes me smile with an intense and real love of life. The kind of love one has for their mother

I watched this way back then, on a commercial VHS tape of a Sugarcubes concert (I think I had two).
