Thank you Miss Candy for giving the ratio of rum to wine for the spritzer to wet the cakes. I went through all the fruit cake recipes on KZbin and your was the only one that gave the ratio of rum to wine. Thank you very much. I can bake but I always recommend to my friends tutorials that I find very helpful. I am from the old school I graduated in 1977 a Home Economics major. Blessings to you 🙏🏽

Very good recipe. All the ingredients that I use in mine. Someone got into a debate with me about adding almond extract in the cake. I KNOW that almond extract adds a nice flavor to black cake. Thank you for your recipe. Very good.

Yes cooking it on very low heat with the water on the bottom rack eliminates the cracks. Good luck with the recipe

Yes small pans are OK just make sure you keep checking it because it may take less time to bake.
