Pugga's reaction to the mother doing her son and creating a baby gave me the same reaction when I first watched it at the theater. Everyone in the theater were reacting the same way. The reaction was very visceral.

This version was incredibly Fetch! This was actually the initial version I saw. But I didn't know the name of it for the longest time. I re-found it because of the gingerbread scene. I didn't even see the original version until WAY later. I like this version a lot. I prefer the phone calls in the original more though, they were way more unsettling and disturbing. But the kills were way more disturbing in this one lol Both great for varying reasons.

I’ve never really gotten a bad gift for Christmas that I can think of. But in 5th grade we had a secret Santa, and my friend forgot about it. So when it was about time to exchange gifts, my friend grabbed a very used, and I mean cover falling off the book used copy of journey to the center of the earth from the classroom and gave it to his secret Santa person. And he received something incredibly nice and thoughtful 😂

I got tricked into watching this movie when I was 11 years old and I was someone who couldn’t handle scary movies hardly. My friends older sister said we were gonna be watching a PG-13 movie and I thought it can’t be that bad if it’s PG-13,… I was shaking like a leaf when we left my friends basement. for the last 20 minutes of the film I had my head buried in a pillow. I didn’t sleep hardly at all the next few weeks to say the least.

Wasn't personally a fan of either this remake, or the more recent one. What makes the original so damn good is that Billy is an enigma, there's no backstory, there's no flashbacks, we don't even see what he looks like apart from a single eye. He is just a faceless threat, slowly murdering through the house and making stomach churning, depraved phone calls. This movie opens with all the background information and makes him a much, much weaker character overall. That said, the gore and cast are both pretty spot on. Shame everything else sucks, it's one of the biggest misunderstandings of a character I've ever seen in a remake.

Sooooo glad you enjoyed this movie. When it came out, it was panned by both critics and audiences because they were too invested in the original, and while it is a spectacular film, and some argue it was the first slasher flick (sorry, Halloween fans) or possibly Peeping Tom, but i think this film really deserves to be seen without knowledge of the original. Such a guilty pleasure for me. The original is great and still creeps me out. This 2006 version....it's got a lot of flaws but I still think it's a fun movie. Brutal, twisted, and I love basically the entire cast. The 2019 version was far worse than this one. It's not even entertainingly bad. Just bad.
