When they were talking about feelings and not knowing what they are, I personally struggled before with that. I noticed that through my spiritual journey of becoming more self-aware, I can now not only recognize what I am feeling, but I can also tell you exactly why I am feeling it, and where in my life I picked it up the trigger. I am in a relationship currently with someone who is also self-aware and it's quite new, but often times we have these conversations about certain things that trigger us both, and we talk about where they came from in our lives. These types of discussions have not only helped us understand each other better but even ourselves as individuals. Things he says helps me to put the trigger into proper perspective and see it for what it truly is, a defense mechanism that isn't going to help me be a better person or help the relationship flourish. And then I will sit in my alone time and ponder about how I can improve upon my behavior. So hearing them talk about that to me was key, and truly needs to be discussed more in the black community especially. Awesome video.

There is a certain level of maturity that has to exist for a couple to communicate on these levels demonstrated and one person cannot be the only one dedicated to growing the healthy communication skills for a great relationship to work. I find that I tend to be an over communicator and tend to be attracted to men who are reclusive and maybe even emotionally unavailable.

"my advice to women is date all of them: the bad boys, the cool boys, the commitment-phobic boys, the crazy boys. But do not marry them. The things that make the bad boys sexy do not make them good husbands. When it comes time to settle down, find someone who wants an equal partner. Someone who thinks women should be smart, opinionated and ambitious. Someone who values fairness and expects or, even better, wants to do his share in the home. These men exist and, trust me, over time, nothing is sexier." Yours sincerely, Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook
@valeriefullilove10314 жыл бұрын
Why waste your time? If you know what you really want, don't frivolously settle for less...That's how women get tripped up and stuck in something they didn't intend on dealing with and 10 years down the line wonder..."How did I get here?"...There's nothing "sexier" than being in a committed, productive, relationship with someone who has your back for more than a moment and you have his...Women, stop dating with no purpose.
