Originally, the best game of the year was going to Star Agent, but unfortunately Sony didn't live up to the expectations, so they could only choose a robot that would reduce controversy. The TGA's game of the year is just for show and don't take it seriously. I don't think Black Myth has any chance of winning the game of the year, mainly because Black Myth is a game developed by a Chinese studio, unless Black Myth is developed by Sony and Microsoft.

To win these types of awards, you need connections or come from an "approved" country. Game Science is just too new, too eastern, too raw and lacks the relationship studios like Ubisoft, ActiBlizz, Electronic Arts, Bethesda, etc. have with the industry critics. Can't even pretend that these companies have done MUCH worse than what GS did when it comes to misogyny but they get the pass from journalists who turn a blind eye. Gamescience did well coming this far.
