Song 5 of 8. See "Glory Ride" for more details about these particular Ray Gillen-Sabbath demos.
Enjoy!

I remember when Ray brought this rough mix to our management office. We were both managed by David Krebs and Paul Oneill at the time. Ray played us a few of the new songs from this record. The first anyone had ever heard them. I still have that cassette that Ray gave me! We were good friends even before he got the Sabbath gig. He went to play this song and looks at David who was in his sunglasses on his couch and said “You will really like this one it is Very Black Sabbath. “ David paused and sarcastically said “That’s important Ray, when you are doing a Black Sabbath record!” 🤣🤣😇🙏

James Lorenzo bass player for white lion, Dave Roth, megadeth was also in the band at the time . Great memories. 1984-5 I guess….I actually was the one who picked Ray up at the train station coming in from jersey to Long Island a few times…. We would burn a J and talk about black sabbath sometimes talk all music but Ray told me Sabbaths first album with the rain and the bell hooked him to music forever. The Rondinelli album is on Spotify. It’s great and you can hear Ray kick ass as usual. Teddy rondinelli was def instrumental in Ray really working a soulfulness into the heavy Range and delivery of his voice and coached Ray a lot in early stages BUT Ray was a natural.

Bob Daisley wrote all the lyrics on this album. He also wrote most all of lyrics on Ozzy's first 4 solo albums. The man gets no credit except for people that really know. WTF

LYRICS (Instrumental Intro) There's a man who sees all there is to see, and what the future holds for all As the days grow dark with a sole and final warning Beware of the one with invisible friends, he will steal into your mind And all too soon the signs begin to show, oh! Rise up, to the shining! Live long, live now! Rise up, to the shining! Don't be blind be fools again! (Fools again...) As the pages turn and the story's told, all the visions he had seen The house on the hill with the haunted eyes that call No one laughed as madness came out, to play its game If you stay too long, you'll finally go INSANE! Rise up, to the shining! Live long, live now! Rise up, to the shining! Don't be blind by fools again! (Fools again!) (Instrumental) Bells will take their toll, on your way, ohh... There's no way we're meant to shine, before our time... All your life, you're on your own, lonely road, lost in a time Let the light lead your way to the golden throne It's the only way... (Instrumental) Rise up, to the shining! Live long, live now! Rise up, to the shining! Don't be blind by fools again Rise up, to the shining! Live long, live now! Rise up, to the shining! Don't be blind by fools again, ohh! Rise up, to the shining!! As lightning steals your mind... Fear no evil, as the vision is true! We share reflection, to power our power to shine! I said rise up! Shine! I said rise up, rise up! Shine! Ohh, ohh! Shine! (Ohhhh...) Rise up...
