It's called Brutalist architecture. Similar to the hospital in Liverpool currently being demolished.

Was filming there couple days ago, I read they're starting to demolish in September.,Yeah I managed to get up there before they sealed it off,see some of the mess and work men was taking chairs out of the courts

Hi Stephen Blackpool police station has been totally taken over by all the homeless you can get on the roof of the police station I had a walk through few months ago and heard people shouting looked up I was stood exactly in front of the old magistrates court I looked up and it was like a seen out the warriors an old gang film they were about ten youths on the roof looking down at me and that fencing wire cutters will be easy cut a hole in that police station will be trouble until it’s gone keep up the good work Stephen

You would of thought the bridge and steps would of been lifted away ages ago, If they can replace railways bridges over night this would be a piece of cake, Good old man flue, hangs around for ages then all of a sudden it goes, All that sea air should do you good,

It's not quite as simple as that. I think the bridge is an emergency exit for Funland, so it needs to be there for that.

Just as well they decided to knock down the old police station. I wouldn't be surprised if it's full of asbestos and that dodgy rack concrete. A nice new coach station would be nice. I was well happy to see Odyssey being put up. I was well dissapointed when they took them down early last year. Seeing them being put up now takes from my disappointment that the Elmir elephants are gone. The Elmirs were lovely. Have you done a video on them Steve? Hope you went home for a hot drink Steve. Always assumed the Bonny Street police station (and its ugly sister in Preston which has been re-clad) were designed to withstand the biggest rockets or mortars the IRA had or were likely to procure when the troubles kicked off around 1969. Apparently the police station was an archetypal "sick building" so I'm not sure what Preston's finest think of their HQ. BTW the black brick walls are the almost the last remnant of Central train station, apart from the buttress on "O" Kay Street which is likely to endure.

The Preston HQ with the brick cladding is now student flats. There’s another one in Wigan which was turned into a Premier Inn. One in Skelmersdale was was renovated recently and still a police station. The first of these designs was built in Morecambe and still looks original.

Me my wife and son were in Blackpool on June 6th and we went to Tower Fisheries where I had Fish chips and peas and my wife had Chips and Pudding with Glass of milk £12.10 you can't Complain at that price. Not quite a week later and we are All ill with Colds and Coughs When we are all better we go back to Blackpool

It was under Harold Wilsons government 1964-1970 that the building would have been commissioned opened in 1971 but officially opened in 1976. Labour did like copying the soviet union. If there are high rise flats or deck access social housing likely to have been build during a Labour government .
