Yes! Worked for me. I was quoted $5,000 for a program for my elementary site. I asked if it was ridiculous for them to only charge us $500 and allow our district (7 schools) to pilot the program. I received a response within 30 minutes....$595 for all 7 schools!

If you haven't already realized what Chris Voss and the Black Swan Group have to offer, don't waste another moment. For 35 years I watched these negotiation dynamics in business. I didn't understand them and I did not practice to this degree to become better. I read all the "brain" books on cognition, human decision making and realized there is a science to how we think. This is a completely unsolicited endorsement - get the book, either from your favorite book store or the library. Read it. Read it again and take notes. Practice it. I am telling you Chris and his group know what they are doing, and this is all about making all your relationships better and making things work out for all involved! Truly the compilation of all the science and know how on how to collaborate and create amazing partnerships. Thanks, Chris. Never Split The Difference is my reference book for human interaction. Really great stuff.

TACTICAL EMPATHY: it's fun to see my colleague's reactions whenever I ask them, "is it a bad time...? or "will you get mad...?" They freeze for a second or two, and they will look at me with this weird facial expression. Afterwards, they will answer, and it almost always works, but in the moments that it doesn't, it's apparent that they're not interested or out of focus. It probably fails because they might not feel heard or understood, so I need to work on my collaboration skills and active listening. THANKS, COACH CHRIS!

Would you be [against/opposed to…](take an action)? eg. meeting tuesday afternoon, say, 2pm? would it be uncomfortable if I...([._____________ (brought my manager?) (gave you a hug?) Wow, just watched this video now. I then implemented one if the question for a prospective client that ghosted me someone months ago. Guess what! She called me immediately. I have been wondering why she ghosted my team after showing a lot if interest in our service. It turned out she had some business and personal challenges. I totally put my sales pitch on the back-burner and spoke to her purely as a friend, even gave her free tips to help her and encouraged her. At the end, she felt better and I am sure when she sorts out her issue, my business will be top of mind. Thanks for the video!!!

Tactical Empathy.... great summarization in two words.... I have been applying something like this for a very long time and didn't really know how to word it so precisely, or even that I used no as a basis. I've really become good at the reconnection and it has always come down to starting by recognizing all of the issues that have caused the problems, addressing them and then getting a yes or you're right as a confirmation that this is what or why they had an issue.it directly creats a repor even if I don't have the best way to fix it at the time. By addressing every problem they have before they have to tell me let's them know we are on the same page and we can move forward with a clear direction. The no orientated questions is new clarity of concept that I kinda knew but it was more of a vibe feeling thing that I now can be more direct in its application. You are exactly right that it's easier for someone to give you a no then a yes. You are first recognizing there's a lot of factors for them to consider. You are then asking them to pull the line back from needing them to commit to dealing with all those things right now, and more of consider the possibility of weather those things could work out. It takes the wieght out of the decision and adds a recognition of that wieght.... which gives you more of a...(hard to word) ... credibility in regards to your intentions being to actually create a beneficial situation or agreement for both of you. Letting them know your understand thier objections and moving toward a shared goal. I believe you genuinely need to know that shared goal, or be shooting for it, or it's kind of a corrupted concept. More like manipulation... that's not to say that that kind of thing doesn't work, it's just not for me, it's a contradiction of who I am and it's a misuse of my abilities. Sorry for writing a chapter in the comment section.... I'll leave it there

Tactical empathy - i just got into selling health insurance. Have prior experience selling other products. Usually its just trying to get time with potential clients, getting to know them, then show and tell of the various insurance products, asking them which product they want, answering objections, and if they agree, filling out an application. Its traditional needs-based selling. I need to recreate a sales process using black swan.
