While it would probably not have won all games, having Full Armor Master on board is one of the best possible fail-saves this format. It being unaffected can often enough stun a Tear player for a turn, which at least gives you a fighting chance. Although the field spell is a pretty easy way to just run FAM over.

little thing to counter act the DRNM, forbidden droplet problem. People are running the PK rank up magic to banish blackwings/other dark birbs to make ultimate falcon. This with RED Abyss can by pass the lock DRNM has because the RUM was the last card to have been activated in the chain.

Hmmm, I saw a different build of the deck that cuts the links/redoer in favor of a full synchro strategy. It felt a lot more consistent and more resilient to boardbreakers because it could consistently end on Hot Red + the blackwing trap, in addition to other interaction points. While both builds offer similar payoff in a vacuum, I think the link build is much worse against tear and tear counters, which is all that matters in this meta. But I might be off-base.

There is a whole line in the decklist that was not explored in this short video. The blavkwing trap does two things here. The first is it let's you make Silverwind on the opponents turn and destroy two cards. Given his opponents it makes sense he didn't do this. However, it does a second thing. If he swerved the black winged dragon and a level 1 boreas into a hot red, be could ha e chained twin shadow and then chained hot red to out the dark ruler. It would have been an overall weaker board, but significantly safer.

18:02 You can, if you use: Blackwing - Gust the Backblast . That is dark, BW, Winged-beast, and it is easy to special summon in your first turn (just example). Also, even you cannot normal summon, you can still special summon Gust, and have BW in field.

It seems like the main culprit is trying to jam the pk bricks from raidraptor into here, since that’s historically what the deck has had to do. The payoff nowadays on it is so low, and even clashes with some of your new cards. The strength of Rusty in raidraptor is due to the rank ups and the crossover with cards like raiders’ wing, but you just have no reason to use it in blackwing because you don’t use them. You’re just playing worse raidraptor or worse pk if you do. Nobody gives a shit about 1 fog blade in 2022 if you get hit with a board breaker.

There is a lot to take issue with in this list, and id go as far as to say this isn't nearly as good as what was available befor the set comes out. The lack of Raidraptor - Force Stix inclusion is concerning as it enables rusty bardiche and helps prevent bricking. Kris the Crack of Dawn's once per turn restriction on its special summon can cause dead hands we're bora the spear wouldn't (even if it's was just one of each for this build). Auster the south wind is a primary normal summon that should be at 1 in most any list, to enable Full Armor Master as a board breaker or towers, if not 2 to recur the card off of simoon's effect and play throug cards like dimensional shifter. Shamal only helps if you drew a critical mass of blackwings and should rather be a 2 of surch target. Using Silverwind the ascendant as a replacement to Raikiri the rain shower is very questionable. Twin shadow could be blackbird close or black shadow squall. Chinook the snow blast is good as a forbidden chalice, but could be any relevant hand trap.

Thank you for testing Blackwings! Currently, I‘m running a pure Synchro build with Small World (the only card that can search a crucial Normal Summon). With 1 Suthri, you‘ll usually end up with Assault Dragon, Fullarmor Master and Chinook in your hand (however, it requires you to run 1 Vayu which is the only Garnet in my variant). With Simoon start, you‘ll end with Draco Berserker, Fullarmor Master, Assault Dragon, Abyss, Chinook and Twinshadow for Silverwind pops.

While playing, I realized that their weakness is the fact that you'll burn yourself down too (could be decisive in time), Byssted in the upcoming meta (yep Magnumut on Zephyros fricking hurts) and the fact that you might have trouble if going second (you can play through 1-2 disruptions depending on your hand, but Blackwings is obviously much more frail than other decks right now). I'm not a huge fan of the PK package due to the amount of Garnets (it's more a personal preference however). And Small World vs Prosperity is very debatable, I'm not sure by myself about which one is better. In OCG, I might run Pot because you might be able to grab CbtG or Crossout to stop handtraps, but in TCG, getting NS-starter might be more important (?) EDIT: I realized that I only run 2 Shamal now lol. Kick it for another Magnumut, Radian or whatever you want.

Ive been messing a lot with this and wound up on a more Raidraptor focused ED with Blackwings being the engine. Synchros can be cut down to five or even 3 (borrel, bw dragon, and full armor). The ability to GET to raidraptors full combo is what raids really struggled with, Blackwings new support turns the new lvl4 searcher into the archetypes Kepler! Just dont use his second effect until maybe the end, essentially playing it like you would Sprights that are mixed in with non lv2 engines.

So many important cards missing from the main, extra, and side. And some of the important ones that were in the deck didn’t get used correctly or AT ALL. Full armor master in defense mode would have won most of these games…if you know your whole board is about to get hit with super poly/droplet/dark ruler/Nibiru you don’t have to over extend. You also could have chosen to go second with this deck.

Maybe I'm missing something, and it obviously didn't matter when the opponent had Called By in hand, but at 14:38 why didn't you even *try* to Veiler the Dharc? You could have actually avoided lethal if they accidentally dropped the Called in the Imperm column.

Because this deck can turbo out Zephyros, could blackwings ever make good use of the Mill 5 that comes with Blackfeather Darkrage Dragon? Mill 5 is an insane effect, and there aren't really other decks that can effectively utilize it. I feel someone can cook something up with it.

@@americantimemachine7128 1. The mills aren't actually important or doing anything. Targeted mills are better. 2. Vata can't summon this card, and you will never waste resources to make this. 3. normal black winged dragon can also go into hot red
