this is good advice. i can second everything you said. retired military myself an have been doin lawn care for 28 years. took a landscaping course at local community collage. have pesticide license. im now 81 years old an only working about 20 hours a week, but still averaging over 1k per week working solo. so it can be done.

You’re never lying about homeowner equipment. My first zero turn mower was a residential bad boy and I rented a commercial zero turn. Could I tell the difference right away. I brought a commercial stand on unit from bad boy and it cuts my cut time in half. I’m going to upgrade my sit down to commercial probably next year.

Your definitely right Johnny. All good information here. My goal has always to be between $1500 to $2000 weekly. It's hard work , but can be done.

Just started a mowing service last summer - and I got caught with that "call when you need cutting" service - I'm removing that now and going to regularly scheduled services - if I lose a few customers because of that, so be it .. I'm also getting away from the pay me when I show up service and going to credit cards on file - thanks for these great tips, Johnny.

Here’s a potential reply: Sounds like you’re making some smart moves for your business! Switching to regular schedules and credit cards on file not only helps with cash flow but also makes things more predictable and professional. Losing a few customers upfront is worth it for long-term stability. Keep up the great work, and best of luck with your mowing service!

You're still at it battle buddy. I'm going on 10 years now in the lawn business. Haven't posted in a while. I would recommend their business statement have the word hustle and motivation in it. I see new lawncare businesses fail because they're not motivated or willing to hustle. Take care.

I Appreciate you, battle buddy! 10 years in the business is no small feat-congrats on that grind! You’re absolutely right; hustle and motivation are key to staying in the game. New businesses need to understand that it’s not just about mowing lawns but putting in the effort every single day. Thanks for dropping some wisdom-take care and keep crushing it out there!

Great Video Mr Johnny Pop Smoke !!! Question, if you were starting off fresh this year would you go all battery powered commercial equipment or the traditional gas powered equipment?
@Bladesofgrasslawncare12 күн бұрын
Traditional because it’s less expensive as an initial investment
@TheJacoNetwork12 күн бұрын
@ Thanks … I already have ego edger, trimmer and chainsaw but was thinking what commercial mower to get I like that Toro revolution you’ve been using more than the ego zero turn ( but that 30k sheesh) … I’m liking the yakta also but I’m thinking that gas powered might be more expensive in the long run … Have you tried using the yakta mowers yet?

What would you say is the best way to get more customers? Fb ads, signs, word of mouth, door to door knocking/hangers?
@Bladesofgrasslawncare9 күн бұрын
I would say FaceBook ads because a large amount of homeowners are on Facebook and Google ads coming in 2nd place, but remember that I don't know how your location is, I hope that this helps
@6.2_vortec9 күн бұрын
@ what I don’t get it. I’ve ran fb ads before and had it set for my local but would regularly get people messaging me from out of state. I believe I only ended up with 2 customers from it after running them 3 different times
