I never understood the divide. Pretty much anything with the Rockstar name is amazing. I started with GTA naturally as it has been around longer, but I never hesitated to pick up RDR1 (Never really played revolver through) & I fell in love immediately. It has the same feel as GTA just in a different setting. It's like switching between Elder Scrolls games & Fallout games.

RDR1 has better endgame content although its repetitive like unlimited bounties and duels. RDR2 endgame doesnt offer much content unless you play online (which is sucks bcs R* just let it die) or install mods on PC ver. Overall you'll probably will appreciate RDR2 more after finished RDR1 on how dev put so much effort in developing RDR2..
