A wild camp on Bleaklow, in the Peak District, and it lived up to its name, still enjoyable though.

I'm from Sheffield, well, have been since we moved from Salisbury in 1993 but currently living and working in Saudi Arabia. These videos are just fantastic and bridge that gap from here to home especially as I won't be back home for a few months, and even then only for a couple of weeks. All these places I know so well - Alport Castles, Kinder Scout, Edale, Glossop, Derwent and Ladybower and Sheffield itself. Every time I feel homesick, which is often, I just watch Patrick for half an hour and job done, spirits lifted and another half an hour closer to home. Wouldn't mind a guided tour of Megatron!!

@@johnfrancis7765 You know what, when I was back home November 2016 I saw a Japanese company had a small place at the bottom of Wincobank as I walked to Meadowhall interchange. Barrow Road (B6082) I think, on the right hand side walking toward Meadowhall. Then 3 month later I saw their knives in Calgary proudly stating "Made in Sheffield".

Hi Peter your name rings a bell, the word Board must be the old YEB, don t know how many times they changed the name after that, I left " Northern Power Grid " in 2012 and have never regretted it. I started in 1971 and still in touch and out for a drink with friends from that era, nice to hear from you Pat

Pennine Way 1990 and Bleaklow was exactly the same as in your video, great memories of turf bog and mist. It didn't stop raining until I got to Hebden Bridge, a testing few days. Thanks Pat..

Great stuff as per usual Pat! Glasses and rain -nightmare I know. I usually ditch them in my pocket at that stage and find since it's usually bright I can get away without out them well enough. I have to take them off for map reading anyway. I am walking every Wednesday now with a small group of die-hards but it's flask and sandwich all round (plus pub at the end of course!) . I may start doing an extra day away myself with a full pack to see how I get on before I get too soft for the camping. :-). Thanks for the encouraging trip.

Hi Terry great that your getting out, with a group the social side of it can be enjoyable, glasses are a pain but can,t see without them, similar I remove to read or look at map, can then read the smallest detail then, thanks Pat

Awesome work Pat. I moved from south Sheffield 20 years ago to live in Australia. Watching your movies portrayed in such a down to earth way really connects with me and brings back great memories. We are coming back to Sheffield for x-mas this year and will be staying with friends who live in Doore. Looking forward to some winter walks again! Please keep your videos coming! CHEERS! Pete Cooke.
