Appreciate you being willing to present your film and be so vulnerable to your audience. Filmmaking by yourself is no easy task, let alone sharing your first endeavor (I know, because I did that last conference). Hope you had a wonderful conference.

Working on a 8 minute short right now, but in a low poly style. I have about 3 minutes completed so far. I can't even imagine the amount of work it took to get this to look so realistic. This is a massive accomplishment and your blender progression and maturity is obvious by the shots you created in year 3. To accomplish this at all is super impressive, and to do it by 17 is insane. Keep up the amazing work, looking forward to your next short!

You should proud of yourself many people your age wouldn't bother doing a fraction of what you did, keep up the good work! And keep doing movies, just try to collaborate with others so you don't do everything yourself which can be quite hard, at least now you understand the whole process, great work!

This looks great. Inspiring. I wish I had had Blender when I was 13 or 17. I tried doing some visual effects when I was that age, but computer graphics hadn't been invented yet, so everything I did was in camera using my dad's Bolex 16mm film camera. Your work is really good. You taught yourself some great filmmaking techniques. I think it would be a shame if you didn't continue in some way. You're too critical of yourself. That's quite an achievement. Even the shots you said you didn't like look very good to me.

I would like to hear more about how you put together your scenes. Where did all your assets come from? Did you build all of it? Some of it? Find assets online? It's all very specific stuff having to be fairly accurate and that can be difficult to find or build. I have been working on a documentary or docudrama on and off for about 25 years about an airship in the 1920s. Building or finding the assets I need has been a challenge.

i learned blender from when i was 15, when he said that he was traumatized with film making, i felt the same thing, i'm 27 years old and have a career in game industry, i work on a various game monday to friday , 12 - 15 hours a day, its super stressfull till i finally tired and traumatized by seeing 3d related stuff for months,. but now i start to work on some personal project, a few second shot with stylized environment and character. Cheers to you mate and thank you for sharing and it really inspire me that you share your journey

You should team up with IanH. Imagine: You two, one 1m^2 green screen, one light, one additional actor, you could probably make a AAA feature

Great short film Mr Skomorovsky. More thought into the ending may have helped. In film school they talk in cliche such as... start from a general lead to a particular, end with an unexpected twist. BTW. If I may suggest? I ran your film on YT at 125%. The increased speed seemed to move the story pace along with a better frequency, helping the pace and overall beat somewhat. Just my opinion ;) Don't give up on your talents. You obviously have a keen eye. I'd be proud of achieving such result at your age. Onya!

Aside from his misuse of the word “traumatize”, this was a very interesting presentation. It takes a lot of commitment to stick with any project for several years, but you always grow immensely from it. Very impressed with the level of quality he was able to achieve with such little resources.
