First off, loved Tabitha going full bacon wrapped spareribs with her performance of jealous ex girlfriend Rarity. This episode might not be perfect, but I'm that they addressed the Spike and Rarity issue in the final season and I appreciate the angle they took. Spike has matured past that schoolboy crush for Rarity and Rarity has developed a genuine bond with Spike to the point that she misses him not just for his assistance but for the happy moments she shared with him. And though it didn't completely sink the ship at the end, it showed that Spike's growing up and one way or another he'll be alright relationship wise.

This episode in relation to generosity actually makes sense for Rarity. She's slways been prideful of her generosity and skittish in times of generosity where she actually wants something. This was the biggest challenge to her generous nature and proves she is the element of such because she is dedicated to fixing things and confessing her own selfishness to those she harmed. A element bearer is not a perfect representation of the element but rather the perfect example of it and its trials.

Gabby doesn't play into the stereotypical griffin too, she has a cheery disposition and likes to help people. Similarly Spike isn't a typical dragon, that he is sensitive and kind, so they have something in common with each other.

This is a first time in a long time when I was annoyed with Rarity. It's possible she doesn't know that Spike has a crush on her, but even though she might not know, her being jealous because Spike was hanging out with someone else was a bit much, especially when she tried getting him away from Gabby. Though I did love the couch gags, Twilight's reaction to the couches were great, seeing Spike ignore Rarity, even if it wasn't out of malice or anything was weird but really cool too. I also loved seeing Gabby again, and how they explained Spike and Gabby hanging out, makes a lot of sense.

Do you think RarityDash will like this episode? I'm unsure. This is HANDS DOWN the WORST Rarity episode of the ENTIRE SERIES. No Rarity episode even comes close. This is coming from someone who was extremely annoyed at her character in Simply Ways and now THIS.

I don't know why SO many people claim this to be a romance episode. One of my friends claims the episode to be more similar to TOY STORY of all things. I initially disagreed with him but now that I think about it, it KINDA makes sense. Rarity equals Woody. Gabby equals Buzz and Spike equals Andy? I know. Strange comparison but it BARELY works.

@@epicfights7898 thank you for that. All I knew was that Spike grew due to dragon greed. Also, have you heard my theory of how Spike got his "Breath Mail" ability? I think it's from Twilight using magic to prematurely hatch his egg, giving Spike unique abilities like GREEN FIRE. I mean, it's been shown that dragons can breathe different colors like pink, but only when they're laughing. Spike on the other hand, can breathe green flames normally.

I really feel Rarity on this one... Been in that situation before and not particularly proud of it, except I lost my friend. So that was a very relatable episode... Not sure whenever to feel happy or sad for Rarity as she still has Spike as a friend, but I don't know if she will ever have someone as good as Spike could have been... On the other hoof personally can't wait for DWK to get his green hands on this one... The commentary and fedora tipping will be intense.

23:47 Spike already tried. Waaaaay back in "The secret of my excess" once spike reverts back to normal, he tries to confess to Rarity, but she stops him. Meaning ahe knew about his feelings for her, but didnt want to change their relationship. It always bugged me, but I let it slide because it was so early in the series. However, after each season never delt with it, I was happy to see them tackle it here. And they did a great job. Her most selfish act from that episode was the driving force for this one. Good job writers, very good job.

Overall, this episode was just okay for me. It was nice seeing Gabby again. Tabitha St. Germain gives one of her best performances. And I'm glad to see they finally put the Spike/Rarity ship to rest. But other than that, it's one of those stories that isn't as engaging as some of the others. I guess it's just because my expectations are high for the final season. The next episode is better, though.

But not quite, Applegeek. 1:25-1:27 I think they're the Power Ponies. 1:30-1:38 Applegeek is really curious about what Spike has been writing. Also, Spike is a bad liar. 1:42 That face. 1:42-2:13 Spike is late for something. But it's not Rarity. 2:01-2:13 Spike has really not been paying attention to Rarity. This is highly unlike him. I too think that Spike was also partly in the wrong here. Spike should have at least mentioned to Rarity that he had other plans beforehand. As you pointed out, this was something that Spike had to be doing for Rarity for ages. Yet he didn't notify Rarity at all shen he had other things on his schedule.

I don't mind if others still ship them, but I'm glad the show finally settled this. I just never saw them as a couple. Not just because of the age difference, but also because also because I knew Rarity would never return Spike's feelings for her, apart from being a good friend to him. All in all, this episode was really enjoyable, and Rarity's dramatic "apologies" were just too entertaining to watch. LOL

Each character is having an ultimate test of character it seems. Everyone has to learn once again about some of their biggest flaws the hard way. This kind of sucked for me as I generally like Rarity, but she was REALLY starting to upset me in this. About on par with how Twilight treated Pinkie. Haven't really seen flaws of this degree tested in regards to the others....at least none directly to mind. It is also early in the morning when I am watching this.

While generosity is stereotypically depicted as giving away things freely it's honestly not feasible to be like that... I personally prefer Rarity's kind of generosity where she's always willing to help and share... But not to such a degree that it hurts her emotionally or physically... We're all allowed to be a tiny bit selfish after all, even the element of generosity herself. While I agree that she went over the top in this episode, you have to agree that Spike is the one thing she's never HAD to think of having to share... And most of us would probably struggle with giving up that kind of attention and care from someone as well =P

Knew you were gonna flip at this episode AppleGeek, I was both surprised & glad they addressed the Spike/Rarity issue before the series end in just about 2 weeks. Hey Applegeek. I have a friend who has a KZbin channel, called Rhino932 Toon. And we've been planning a film together. But not just any film, A CROSSOVER!! Have you ever seen the musical We Will Rock You? Well, it's basically that, but with one slight twist. Now let me ask you something. Can you imagine the MLP characters meeting the characters from The Lion King, Aladdin, SpongeBob SquarePants or even Shrek? Well, in this story, the film takes place in the year 3036, where music, TV shows, films or any other fun thing have been banned. Villains like King Sombra have a horrible weapon called the Metalico Del Bolso (which is a small black ball with purple and green sparks on them), which turns innocent cartoon characters in to metal. The Mane plot is that Rarity 'literally' stumbles across Branch (a troll from the animated film Trolls), and the two friends team up with Discord and all your other favourite cartoon/non-cartoon characters to save the world from an evil warrior. The film is called The Future's Legends, and most of the characters who are in this are MLP characters (Rarity, Twilight, King Sombra, Fluttershy, Applejack, Spike, Rainbow Dash, Capper, Pinkie Pie and the Storm King). Maybe you should do a reaction to it. His drawings are so good.

Gabby is really just as possessive of Spike as Rarity ; he spends time with Rarity for 2 days and Gabby is already feeling left out... And Spike is at fault aswell ; he didn't just start spending time with Gabby, he completely started to ignore Rarity... he didn't even tell her why! Beside, he also was the one who ended up lying to Gabby! He told her he'd rest, and then when Rarity comes, he doesn't even think about it and plays with Rarity. This is Spike's fault, Rarity had no idea of Spike's letter to Gabby saying he was tired. Spike isn't only at fault passively, because "he didn't do this or that", he also did do some wrong things.
