To me using a mod for this is like a billiards exhibition. They set up the balls so that you can make the 'trick shot' you want to make without hoping it appears naturally in a game because the shot is still hard as balls to make.

@@peterk7428 The only issue I have is saying you beat someones record while using different rules the original record keeper used. It's just a silly "record" with no official ruleset, but the principle still stands. I have no issue otherwise and even this isn't really a huge issue to me since it's not an official speedrun or anything.

There is a slight difference, though. Himiko was found without the normal trigger, like without starting next to a natural wonder (which then is no longer available for Kandy and cannot be chopped). It is impressive nonetheless.

TWO THINGS: 1.) THIS IS A TURN 38 VICTORY. The game records the win on the rollover between right before you have enough tourism and after you eclipse the amount of tourists to complete a culture victory. According to the Hall of Fame, this win is recorded on turn 38, hence a turn 38 victory. 2.) THIS IS A CHALLENGE VIDEO. People keep going "Oh ThIs IsN'T a ReAl GaMe BeCaUsE yOu'rE pLaYiNg ThE sAmE sAvE oVeR" or "YoU'Re UsInG gAmE mOdEs To WiN tHiS" ..yeah. That's the point. It's a showcase of a challenge of how fast you can win the game by doing dumb/absurd things. I'm not claiming to start a random save and get everything by luck like in my previous Ludwig/China videos, this was a random roll that turned out to be a good save soI played over and over, that's the point. ok go subscribe to ra

I, for one, appreciate the explanation as to why it is a turn 38 victory as I do not fully understand the mechanics of the game in any way. All I knew was the turn counter said "39" and you had to click "next turn" to get the victory scene, which did not look like a turn "38" victory to me at all. So I ended up a little confused and feeling lied to until I saw this.

Using mods like that isn’t really cheating. the point of this challenge is just to show that IF you get a god tier start, then this type of victory is possible. You’re just using the mod to give you the start instead of getting it by RNG. But the start is the same regardless of if you use the mod or not.

There's stil a difference tho. If it was a mode like "choose the order you unlock heroes" there wouldn't be a problem, but forcefully unlock them turn one in my opinion is questionable because it creates not just rare, but impossible scenarious.

To add to the Gilgamesh knowledge, if he is in any state but denouncing you he will take a friendship. I have been at war with him, made peace, and declared friendship on the same turn. I'd like corroboration to see if this is true, but I am pretty confident.

I referenced a Person playing it out to help me with the First couple of Turns, then Ai Behavior differed so I went into doing Better and Worst at times with the Person. One thing to note: the Last City you capture WON'T give you the 5 extra points for owning it{because the game ends}; so, you are going to need to settle enough cities for the Points before taking the last city. I for one welcome challenge modding. It’s better to have a fair set-up for your game plan than to bet on luck at the risk of “cheating in the background”. This sets the record straight and lets others also attempt the same challenge instead of saying “oops unlucky better reroll”

reliquaries are broken when you use them with heroes and legends, plus rome + voidsingers really helps with that, otherwise there is literally no reason to take that belief by the way this gameplay was so insane,that it made me turn the game modes on back again after playing vanilla for months

8:20 Yes, I might have been very misleading in how I worded that. You said it perfectly, Gilgabro is a guarantee. Any time I've had that it's either been a neutral (Very rare for that) or green happy face which literally means they like you, lol. Gilgabro is the only person that it works 100% of the time no matter the face! (Not sure if you can friend him if he's denounced you, but I assume no.)

Could this technically be slightly faster with Kristina? If you could build your monument/Old God straight after Himiko you could pretty much immediately theme it with three relics (after deleting Himiko) to get a far better tourism base. Not sure if it'd be worth the extra production you need to waste on the monument, but it's at least an interesting idea and a workable alternative way to do this.

Even though I have near 1.5K hours in the game, I have a basic game mechanic question for people as I have never bothered to test it. Boes says Religious Settlements is the best pantheon in the game since it gives you a free settler. Is the settler actually completely free or does the cost of your next settler increase like you built it? Just curious mostly and never really bothered to test it to see myself, so I was wondering if anyone just knew.

Yes it increases Cost; but, it Doesn't Take a pop for your City, you save time from Not building that Settler, Your Boarders expand a little faster to gain tiles without needing to buy them, and You get extra Era Score from getting the First Pantheon in the Game. It helps you get so much more Momentum then you would of had normally

You are correct you cannot manually place them there. There's some interaction where it thinks that it's a relic slot when you gain a relic, so it forces it into the Old God Obelisk slots. I'm sure it's not intended but it's never been fixed since it was introduced

I had an idea when you brought up buying a square using gold/turn and I thought why isn’t there a civ that does it yet and I realized there might be a good spot for it. Thomas Jefferson: America. Either call it something like “the negotiator” or “Louisiana purchase”. Can purchase land with gold/turn the price is always split amongst 10 turns so if a lane costs 75 gold it is 8 gold per turn then 3 gold on last turn. Also gain +3 diplo favor for every 5 population in your capitol. Let me know if you think this is too weak or strong idk never done it before but would be interesting since Lincoln is a military civ and Roosevelt is a culture civ so having a diplo/currency civ for America is an empty spot.

Hey! I used to be a hater but I don't hate you anymore. May I propose something? Could you please do a civ blitz cultural victory challenge with Kristina Leading Kongo with the Acropolis in the heroes mode with a similar relic strategy? I've played that before and apparently you can auto theme relics and stack that with reliquires and Kongo's relic bonuses. It's extremely satisfying I highly recommend you try it.
