Dylan Smith says "Recent immigration has created a lot of grief for the people of Toronto." Here is one reason why this should not be a surprise. Toronto was a major support base for the expressed cosmopolitain global village policies of the Liberal government that was elected, in 2015, on the election promise that Canada would " become the worlds first post national state". Justin Trudeau's Quixotic notion and policy we now see overtaken by the reality of global events. American, Israeli, Ukrainian and Russian nationalism and nationalism in general still remains, to this day, the most powerful political force on the planet. Canada under a contrarian Liberal government and to its detriment has gone in one direction while the rest of the world has gone in another.

It is worse than what most think. Monday Freeland releases her Fall statement and it is rumoured that they missed the mark by a minimum of 50%. Now if we construct basic supply and demand charts and once upon a time supply and demand was balanced now since Trudeau's unlimited immigration campaign we must shift the demand line and that translates into inflation. I took a few courses from Moody's and that course claimed that the maximum level of employment in Canada is a function with the Trade with the United States as they can only consume so many tons of Copper, Nickle, Lumber, ETC. That translates into heavy unemployment in Canada. And that leader has the audacity when the unemployment rate is 6.8% that he has to increase immigration because there is a shortage of workers? And to add insult to injury that same person increases taxes to the limit and that robs of supplier surplus. And the subsidies he is providing to these people is paid directly by the citizens of the country so that puts a floor on citizens welfare. The standard of living can only decline. And the modern hiring practices has the propensity to create conflict among the citizens.
@BloorStreetCapital4 күн бұрын

An issue that never seems to be talked about is thatore then the 50% of the Canadian economy is forgein owned. So forgein motivation is profits not innovation. Most of comments do not recognize this, so easy to blame to government. Mr. Pollieve has no plans to reverse this...

The last 6 minutes talking about fixed rate mortgages missed the mark. The bank of Canada's rate decreases only affect the variable rate mortgages. Fixed rate mortgage rates are based on the bond market and the Canadian 5 year bond has been going UP due to the falling Canadian dollar and the poor national economy. The average Canadian 5 year mortgage is actually HIGHER now than at the start of the year despite the BOC's interest rate cuts.

thanks for hitting on the cad usd as an investor looking to invest in the US this just does not make sense. what are some alternatives? are we heading to bonds? can you hit on the yield curve and the cad usd? thank you
@BloorStreetCapital4 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment/question! I can’t give investment advice but I always keep a portion of my portfolio on USD. As mentioned the CAD is down 8% this year alone so that means my US assets are up 8% just on the currency but of course this can reverse pretty quick. As a Canadian I think it’s important to have exposure to the US markets bec we just don’t have the growth here.

Canada has been too focused in charity and pay backs to social groups. Immigration should only be done at a rate that keeps it affordable and Trudeau has been paying back to groups who were victimized by previous governments . Again too much too fast . I agree that victims need to be repaid but maybe make installments rather than full cash pay outs . Debts on our economy carry heavy interest costs . We can no longer keep up. We need to put away our credit cards and spend only what we have on items only which we need . We cannot save the world especially if we hurt our own economy .

Canada imports almost everything, so you don't have to travel outside Canada to be hurt by the weakened Loonie. There's a better way to stimulate local demand - lower rents. Imagine all the extra wealth available for people to both start and patronize small businesses (often more efficient and productive than large corporations with lots of dead wood).
@BloorStreetCapital3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment Jonathan! Yes we do import a lot but with a collapsing loonie that means we have to pay more for everything and this leads to higher inflation and the cycle repeats itself.

Hey Jimmy, you forgot to talk about corruption, white supremacy, modern slavery, systemic racism, and systemic roadblocks in immigrant's career progress. As a highly educated immigrant who has lived here for about 20 years, these are the reasons Canada is a bad place to live, and it won't get better sometime soon.
@BloorStreetCapital3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the Eric comment! If I spoke about government corruption we would be here for hours. I am more hopeful. I think we just need proper leadership. It will take 5+ to repair the damage but Im hopeful.

Citizens are suffering too, not just immigrants. If white supremacy were a thing, the gov would not be subsidizing non-white immigrants wages with tax money like they do. Canada sucks for everyone, dont blame racism.

Thanks James, it was good to see you focus on Canada, however, you did not discuss the explosion in debt levels under Trudeau government. It has grown 60% from $1 trillion in 2019 to $1.6 trillion. During the last budget the deficit grew to $50 billion and we have another budget coming out next week and it is expected to exceed $60 billion. We need a government who understands fiscal policy and not one focused on feminism.

Thanks for the comment Shane! The BOC is aggressively cutting rates because they know over 1 million mortgages come due in 2025 and another 1.5 mill in 2026 and if rates stay high n mortgage payments will increase 50%. 2025 could be a very interesting year.

Many aspects correct however 2 thoughts, 1. He blissfully pretends the flood of WEF new citizens of the world come with cash which is incorrect, they are a net cost to the tax servants. 2nd I'd love to see just one of these woketarded western countries absolutely flood their markets with economists, media personalities & folks willing to be political running candidates. As for delving into Canada's insistence on imploding their peoples economy from within is rather funny 😅 between taxing onto of taxes with another scoop of taxes just for good measure. Along with being insane in regards to a dedication of absolutely never ever tapping your natural resources. = broke & long term forever broke. Good luck. Ps yall last quarter made up job growth being 90% government created jobs = yall are screwed. I'm sure secretly this dude knows it 😅😅😅😅

Thanks for the comment and for taking the time to view our content! Someone else also made the comment about these people having money. I will have to investigate this further because everything I read and hear says otherwise. Like I mentioned, the province of Ontario is spending over $1 billion a year to put immigrants up in hotels. That is not sustainable. I also should have asked him about the explosion in gov jobs because these are not real jobs, they are fake jobs.
