Thanks Brie and Dad. My grandpa left school at 14 so that his family could keep their farm after his dad died in a farming accident. He had a hard life but sent all his kids through school and had a beautiful wife in Alta. They are always my inspiration when I get tired and discouraged ❤

My great great grandfather was a dairy farmer in Kansas. I've always wished I could have met him and had these conversations with him. You are so lucky, especially since you now have this video with your Dad. I don't know why, but it brings tears to my eyes.

Your dad seems like a sweetheart ☺️❤️ He has to be so incredibly proud of you and the messages that you are sharing with so many people 🥰 Your grandfather truly was amazing and ahead of his time!! Finding your channel has forever sparked something in me that I treasure! I always had an interest and curiosity about soil health but didn’t really know what questions to ask. I’ve always been taught by my dad, that you are you eat, and what that animal or plant eats as well. I’ve grown up seeing all of the cover crops and crop rotation that he’s been doing, as well as planting pockets of things specifically to feed the wildlife through the winter.

Very interesting! In the cow-stable many things are similar to my old stable on the farm I bought last year in denmark! 😊 And: I just wanted to add, that if we love the old times, then we should be aware that the prices for food were relatively high at that time, compared to the average normal income. Food had a completely other value at that time and wasn't that much vasted. That it is cheaper these days has an impact on many things and brings not always the best results (for example for the farmers!). But at least many peoole nowadays can afford "some" food, even if not the best produced, more expensive one. If food were more expensive maybe also more people would be starving. Just a thought. 🌞💖🤗

I am originally from southern MN. Ibwas rasied on a farm near New Ulm. Where did you grow up or where is the farm? Moved to South Dakota and monoculture ag keeps heading west with improved genetics in seed. Definitely a changing landscape.

As a child, my chore was to go to the farmer in the evening to pick up the freshly milked raw milk. My mother would collect the cream that rose to the top of the milk. Nobody ever got sick from this raw milk. 😮

That's great! It is very risky though, bovine TB is serious and cows can easily catch from wildlife!

My family owned a large farm on the east coast. (property is leased out to farmers now.). The government is slowly squeezing them all out. Mega corporate farms are turning us into a socialist country and no one seems to notice.

Yes, small family farms are definitely fading away, it's becoming harder and harder to stay afloat as a small operation, sadly.

They pastured outdoors, the barn is where they were milked and slept. Cows need shelter in cold zones.
