What this doesn't explain really to me is how to set up the zone. Do you make them smaller, farther away from each other, configure differently? If you continue to park a certain way, you could always be stuck in 2 zones every time. Unless the answer was there and I missed it

You want the zones to be smaller. In the original picture example you need a zone that is in front of the car, so when the car is parked it is completely out of the "street zone" and only in the "driveway zone". You only need one square of empty space between the zones. Then when you leave the driveway you will cross an empty space between two zones and the alert will be trigger. (I know this is a year after the comment was made, but I still refer back to these videos whenever I'm messing with zones in Blue Iris)

@@Squick99 Thanks. I think I eventually figured it out after a lot of experimentation w/ the zones. The problems I was having was doing zones on sidewalks and how to set up the crossing rules, but I think I eventually figured it out for the most part. Has been pretty solid since. Not perfect, but close enough for 95% of activity.

Would using AB instead of A-B trigger the alert for when you are in the middle of both zones instead of making the zones smaller? Thanks

Great video.! Please make more about BI. But... how to make it right then?

Richard I have been using BI for many years now and have learned thing by watching your videos that have never understood. This video explains an issue that I have always had. I explains the why but never explains how to fix the problem. Now that Ver 5 is out could you do a follow up? I did contact you directly on your website as I'm not sure how to contact you directly other than that. Thank you for the great videos.

Hi Greg, thanks for watching and glad it helped. As for making new videos, at this time I've decided that there isn't enough changes between v4 and v5 to justify redoing all the videos. If you have any other questions that my videos might not cover, I suggest trying ipcamtalk.com forums. They are really helpful there.

Question - I'm a complete newbie on this but just wondering if you could also set it to AB>B or is that not how it works?
@nmfireman4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply but my question was how do you fix the problem you described in this video. You never said how to do that you just said what was wrong. The other question is can you have more than one zone a or B for example in different locations on the screen where they’re not actually touching. I guess I’d have to show you what I’m thinking

So... how do you get around this nonsensical limitation of Blue Iris?
@ssss-df5qz3 жыл бұрын
Still doesn't work for me. Sometimes it'll trigger when something crosses, others won't. I've watched at least 20 tutorials, scoured the forums..... this is definitely a persistent BI problem.
