This looks amazing and properly thought out, well done. Which codecs is it licenced for? Do you have AAC for iOS?

Thank you! It actually does AAC for iOS and Android :). It'll also be licensed for cVc (Clear voice capture), for the microphone input.

tass2001 Brilliant! Would it be possible to manipulate the aux input with 16:9 display and controls like the cd changer? Obviously need to hook into the iBus somewhere but that’s no problem.

@@Magsybaby you mean, use the AUX input rather than the CD changer? It's possible but there would have to be software modifications and you'd have to tap into power and IBus elsewhere :)

This a great idea and looks very promising? How’s is working out for you so far? Also quick question. I have an e39 with the 6 cd changer and the mid, the radio that isn’t business and is also known to have the dead pixels. I think it’s called mid. Will that work to navigate through the system? I know you said it but since you used a business radio I want to make sure. Thanks and keep up the great work! Looking forward to getting one once finished!

@Young 23 - Thanks! It works pretty well for me on a day to day basis. Yes, the MID technically uses a Business Radio, and the BlueBus works with it as well without issues (though it's not fully compatible just yet).

Hey! The BlueBus doesn't interfere with your ability to use the OBC screen or the Navigation map. For now, it does disable "split screen" mode, but that's really it.

@Young 23 - it's hidden on the page :). [e-mail]. Anyways, no, you won't need that as I'm integrating it into the BlueBus. It will allow you to use the stock microphone (if equipped or retrofitted) with the BlueBus.

Any chance of doing the same thing but with Android auto or a mirror / screen cast set up so I can have my Google maps or waze on the factory screen?

While that’s not impossible, it would be very difficult to implement, especially since the factory screen isn’t touch capable, so you’d have to scroll around with the jog dial.

@Wayne Au - No, still working on the last beta revision before sending off for manufacture. I have added more features that are not featured on this video, mainly the ability for the unit to emulate the factory telephone control unit, so that it can act like the factory Bluetooth system :).

Is that just a stripped down FAKRA bung for the dsp side? I manipulate my DSP with a raspberry pi and Kodi right now but this would be neat too

It's an SMB connector made by Molex :) It ties directly to the BT module which outputs S/PDIF at 44100hz to the DSP. Keep in mind that a lot of these cars have the analog DSP connector, which is the six pin connector. Even if you have a DSP, it's likely not going to use the digital input.

tass2001 I manipulate DSp direct now over digital bus just used a old bung from a CDC but wanted to switch over to real hardware instead of repurposed I don’t wanna switch to different system as right now the pi in my car runs a custom kodi install with mfl interface and IKE read our and other stuff like Auto Unlock on ignition off etc

I have an E83 X3 without Navigation and only a single disc in dash CD. Think this will not give me bluetooth connectivity in my vehicle?

Brian, Your X3 Business CD is exactly the same unit found in the E46 except with a different faceplate -- It's the CD53. So yes, this will work with that. :)

So it's clearly connected to the IBus... Would it be possible to enable stuff like: - auto-unlock at engine shutdown - "comfort" turn signals (triple-blink with tap) - start up messages on the IKE (like a Grom/Intravee) - PDC distance warnings on IKE (like a Grom/Intravee) - light shows, functionality like the Modlight 2 Obviously, I'm sure your first goal is to get a product out there. But these could be cool "value add" features that bring in more customers.

Hello, You're right, it is IBus enabled! Yeah, all of these things are possible and the triple blink feature is already on the books, just have not gotten to it yet. I'm an E46 owner, so I know I can't write anything to this IKE, but I would be able to do so for E38/E39/E53 owners. I don't have PDC in my car, so I don't know when I'd get to that feature, but I'm certainly willing to give it a go.
