I currently own and have for sale a 2017 Moto Guzzi Griso. I absolutely love my griso but I don't just ride it enough. This is an amazing bike with insane handling and the power is just insane. The sound the exhaust makes is just something out of this world.

Pretty much agree with everything you say, BMR, especially regular tyre pressure checks, but a Termignoni can is lighter, better looking IMO & not overly loud. Even better, Beetle does a map just for this setup - I'll be doing mine soon. If anyone wants the links for the s/w, the cables & the instructions, everything is on the grisoghetto forum under Beetle's posts. I'll be checking out part II of your test in a while.

Great review, and always love to hear solid reviews from new initiates ;-) I've had an 1100 Griso since 2015, and love it. After years of reading about Guzzi and never seeing one, while living in the PNW, I went to Moto International (RIP). 100 feet down the road I was hooked. 7 years later I am still in love, and with the marque. My collection is growing and currently consists of the Griso, a 1200 Sport (like a Griso in a silk glove), a V7ii Stornello, Breva 750 and Convert. You are spot on for tire pressures. I run 36F/38R. Also important to get suspension settings matched to your weight and riding style. The Ghetto has several threads on this. You will find that Guzzi's grow on you and each mode has a unique character, feel and look. Just subscribed, and look forward to seeing what your next Guzzi will be...

Warming up an engine is done best while driving, just don't rev it high or ask much of the power. This rule applies for any engine
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider Жыл бұрын
Interesting perspective. But given riding/driving puts load on an engine, that's best done when warm. Starting and riding won't kill your engine, but it will wear it more quickly, simply because the rings, bores, bearings etal are not up to spec tolerances, and the oil is still very viscous.

Sweet review mate.I purchased my Griso brand new three years ago after having many other types of bikes over the years.There where only four new ones left at the time.I can honestly say that this is the most enjoyable bike I’ve ever owned.It’s not the most perfect bike,but the feel good factor can’t be understated & once you understand the handling quirks when riding on twisting roads this bike will surprise you at how well it handles.The standard M5 metzeler tyres let the bike down a little.I changed them after around ten thousand kilometres for metzeler sportec M7RR which are a softer compound,but make the world of difference to the bikes handling.
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Agree with the handling. It's a different way of riding, but just as capable. Good to know about the tires - I'm on the lookout for a set of new over the winter - love the softer compound idea: more money on tires = more fun on the road and less chance of leaving silver lines on the tarmac :-) Cheers.

Thanks for a very accurate review. Just a minor comment: The "remember to insert your user code" message on the dash when starting it up is not standard, and should not come up every time to switch on your bike. The easiest is to actually insert the user code (which is an option in the menu). Ask the previous owner for it if you don't have the code. Or check on the GrisoGhetto: there are a few threads about it.
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip - I have the user code, and have never thought of inserting it, as it starts every time. Will do now though...not sure what happens if I don't?

Hello BMR! (from back in the ol’ country - (Dorset)!) Enjoyed this review, from a new-to-Guzzi person, and to hear your impressions. I’ve owned and loved a yellow 1100 for 5 years now, and a 1982 SP since ‘94. Same Dart Marlin screen as you have, but with a GPR pipe (1.5Kgs as opposed to the boat anchor 6.5Kgs of the original - plus it sounds lovely without being offensive, and it doesn’t require its own parking space!) ..One small point about engine configuration - and it’s often mistakenly trotted out: it’s actually a longitudinal engine, rather than transverse - it’s all to do with the alignment of the crankshaft. If the crankshaft was Across the frame, it would be transverse; but because Guzzi pots stick out sideways, people commonly call the engine transverse… they is rong!! Just a minor point and bit anorakish, but thought I’d gently toss in my tuppenny-worth. Anyhoo, good vid and nice to hear your thoughts, and appreciated the very easy to digest presentation style…. Off I go to watch Part 2!
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Andy - and you're right of course, I fell into the old trap. Transverse pots, but not the crank. Great bike - will do a reflash soon and bleed the brakes, ready for another season soon. Love Dorset, was on the Isle of Purbeck a couple of years ago, and will be in Hampshire for Christmas. Cheers.

There is a new imported unregistered 2012 model on sale at a reasonable price. Seriously considering driving down 400km to check the deal after watching this video for the second time. Just curious about the engine heat, how bad is it? Coming from a tropical climate, this could be a deal breaker. Appreciate your honest opinion on this one, thank you
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider 9 ай бұрын
Before you buy it, check it's rollerized (should be). Engine heat is something I've never noticed, but I'm on Vancouver Island in Canada (30-35C days in the summer are getting more common). It could be entirely different in a hotter country and the best way to check it out is to ride it.

Have you received any intel or insight about future modes from Moto Guzzi towards a new version of the Lemans, or Griso?
@BlueMarbleRider
@BlueMarbleRider Жыл бұрын
None, I'm afraid, although my guess is that a new Le Mans would be a more likely route given the impact that would have on the market both for nostalgia and reputation, the Griso being relatively obscure when I am asked what it is.

Wooow… you even have the same wind screen :-) same color :-) My best friend has one in my garage. I use it occasionally as well. It is awesome on Metzeler M9. The stand you ordered is ok. For a winter pause. Be careful that pins on stand fits nicely on to screws on Griso on both sides. Its 2015, same like yours as it is last year of production just for US market was declared and sold as a 2016. Great “personal growth toy” you got yourself :-) I wish you a lot of nice and safe travels with Mr. Griso (as I call it). And if by any chance you decide to visit Europe… I’ll buy you a linch in Slovenia :-)

Great review (non ride) of this bike. Have always had a soft spot for it & if it were not for a MC accident that left me with a leg that cannot bend more than 90 degrees I would likely have owned one.

I couldn’t watch the whole video because I could not stand it any more. The title of the video doesn’t say IIIIIII but you never stop saying IIIIIII. If i would have known the video was about YOU, it would not have been on my list. Moto Guzzi has remade a bike from the 1980s. Thats it, and they want to charge you 2021 prices for it. Plus its an ugly beast.
