BMW 335i Budget TURBOS that will fix your wastegate rattle and make serious power!!! (17T turbos)

In this episode we are doing ALOT!!!
First thing first is turbos since mine have wastegate rattle and need to go ASAP. Inlets because I bought the 17t turbos which require 2 inch inlets.
Outlets just cause 🤷‍♂️. All of the cooling system because I wanted to get it done and not worry about it ever again. But its an N54 so nothing ever lasts sooooo yeaaa! Enjoy the longest video I've ever published so far.

It depends cause mines failed at 5k the first time around I had to switch brands of 17ts then they lasted 27k..just gotta do your research and ask the people which ones to get I prefer speedy turbos myself for my 17t option

Average life of those turbos is 3 months. I seen some people really baby them and get years but as far as the guys running them at the track every once in a while about 3 months. We know the center cartridge is built like crap because when they blow it's usually one or the other not both the same time. Suggesting that quality control issues maybe somebody should look into rebuilding the center section.

Good content, like the walk through video, trying to source out a n54 for myself but they are alittle inflated in price as people are starting to discover them. Trying to find one with lower kms with a 6speed manual and 12 index injectors, and some of the other preventative maintenance that’s already been done like all the plastic crap that cracks, coolant lines ect. Imo find one low mileage and do it your self my friend bought a 335i with n54 he had many problems with it and he was like f it and rebuilt the engine mostly just scrapping cleaning and replacing bolts with brand new arp bolts studs etc he did run forged internals because the engine was beat out when he got it and now he’s planning on making a insane 600-700 whp setup he’s just playing it safe and waiting for more money to get 8.8 axles and custom piping for exhaust manifold and stuff so idk why I wrote all that but get one and watch hella vids of people just installing parts or talking about the engine if your ever doing any work on it follow a vid and do it unless your a machanic then you will know what to do🤷‍♂️

It was a fun car and I can definitely see myself getting another one if the right one pops back up. Wife currently has an x5 and I enjoy driving that for the time being.

Pure turbos are good, I personally wouldn’t spend money on them just because at that point I would be saving for a single turbo kit

Do I have to disconnect the battery before removing anything?? Already started doing this removed everything , all I need to do now is remove the water pump and thermostat and I will have full access to the turbos and feed lines but before I remove the water pump and power supply to it , do I have to disconnect the battery?? There's a 335 WhatsApp group with 300+ members... at least 50 in there have these turbos. Some people have racked up 25-30k on them with no issues or shaft play! If you do get unlucky, they're cheap enough to replace vs spending 2-3k for similar turbos that might fail.
