On top of that being another hassle of ownership, they're expensive to replace and guaranteed to do it again. But what if there was a better option?
NRW Design offers a set of aluminum valve covers identical to the Genuine magnesium pieces. They're just as strong but without the microporous metallurgy and corrosive tendencies. They carry a lifetime warranty against failures. They're available raw or powder-coated in several colors to liven up the engine bay.

Did they do something similar for the inline turbo 6? N54, N55, hell even the N52?

I think I just found them lol. Good shit. Always wanted to ditch the vanity cover on my 335d and I found a nice black plastic one I believe and aluminum ones.

What bolts are on the valve covers? They are different than the OEM
