Today is the 2nd of May 2019.
And once again a rear tire on our BMW has left.
Both on the flanks and on the main tread the minimum profile depth is reached.
And the tire should now be exchanged here in our service-station.
The expansion of the wheel is easy. I want to show you the same.
Which tools do we need?
For this we need a ring spanner (15), a Torx-45 tool and for the wheel bolts a tool Torx-50.
First, we take our ring spanner and loosen the screw of the clamp that connects the end silencer with the pre-silencer. Loosen the screw completely until the clamp comes loose.
Now we take the Torx-45 and loosen the screw with which the rear silencer is attached to the frame. Now the muffler is loose. And you can turn the exhaust away.
If it's hot, it's best to do it with a rag or gloves.
You now reach the screws of the rear wheel. Now we take the Torx-50 tool.
Already the wheel is removed. The tire can now be exchanged by the service team.
The installation of the wheel is also very easy.
Logically, in reverse order.
It is very important to tighten the wheel bolts crosswise.
This is best done in three passes and finally with the torque given by BMW.
The removal of the front wheel, I show you when the front tire is worn.

Hallo Siegfried, vielen Dank für das sehr lehrreiche Video. Ich habe gestern den Reifen meiner R1200R nach deiner Anleitung ausgebaut, hat prima geklappt. Einige Anmerkungen habe ich aber: - Teilw. sind die Schraublösungen je nach Modelljahr am Auspuff anders gelöst. War aber absolut kein Problem. - Die 5 Schrauben des Hinterrades waren bei mir extrem fest angezogen. WD40 und ein langer Drehmomentschlüssel haben geholfen. - Ich habe den Schalldämpfer ganz abgezogen, dann ist er nicht im Weg. Ich habe ihn auch gleich noch poliert. - Bei der Montage hat mir eine Holzlatte geholfen, die ich unter den Reifen geschoben habe. Ansonsten ist das Montieren etwas umständlich. Nochmals danke für dein Video und allzeit gute Fahrt und eine schöne Saison 2020. Christian

Hallo Sepp, und vielen Dank für Deinen Kommentar und die darin enthaltene Info. Wegen der fest sitzenden Radschrauben habe ich einen Tipp. Ich verwende beim Montieren eine kleine Menge Kupferpaste auf dem Gewinde der Schrauben. Mehr als das im Handbuch angenommenen Drehmoment brauchen die Schrauben nicht. Damit halten sie bestens. Ein kleiner extra Zuschlag ist nicht notwendig und auch nicht sinnvoll. @@siegfriedfelixgutfleisch9951 Das mit der Kupferpaste habe ich mir auch schon überlegt. Ich werde das heute noch nachholen. Anzugsmoment ist 60Nm und beim Auspuff 20Nm. Danke für deine Antwort, sackstark! 💪

Ich schaffe es nicht mit einem Reifenmontiergerät den Hinterreifen draufzukriegen.

Hallo Rock, die Frage verstehe ich nicht ganz. Wir lassen unsere Reifen bei dem Reifenhändler montieren bei dem wir die Reifen kaufen. Da gab es bei der Montage noch nie Probleme. Ich baue lediglich die Räder selbst vom Motorrad ab und nach der Reifenmontage wieder dran. Viele Grüße, Felix
